Josh Norman allowed a passer rating of 54.0 last season, best in NFL. @PFF

plus he had like 4 pick 6's
im.....im..scared
Even if we sign Norman to 16 mil we'd still be tied for second most cap space in the league.

Man, if this happens, we would get a lot of redemption for what happened with Vernon.

Whatever you were going to pay Vernon - give it to Norman.
Quote:Imagine running a Nickel D with those 3 CB's, Gipson, Cyprien/Sample, and Jack/Telvin in the LB corps. That's pretty freaking solid.
We'd be [BLEEP] talking and swagged out of our minds

No one is denying he's talented but to sign him would have to be a very team friendly contract. He's had one great year and wants Revis money. When it comes down to it you have to have a lot of good players on your team and only a few great ones. This is because the great ones are so damn expensive. Gettleman knows this and knows he can find a quality corner and use the big money elsewhere rather than a 29 year old CB.

Lol we have no where to go but up, we have been bad so long, lets do this
@nflcharlie I would have to think with the #Jaguars cap room coupled with the early season suspension of Colvin, they have to at least try to get Norman

Double post, sorry.
Norman was born in South Carolina, went to college at Coastal Carolina, played in the NFL in North Carolina...if the playing in California wish rumors are wrong then him staying as close as possible to home/family seems like it might give us a leg up.

But on the flip side, living his entire life in the Carolina's might be why he wants to play in Cali and experience another side of life.

Trying to look at it objectively.

Panthers had one of the best LB/DL groups in NFL. I seriously doubt a 28 year old Josh Norman has a better year than last year. Bring him in for a year or two sure,I'm skeptical Josh Norman is as good as he thinks.

Like Vino said even if we give him 16 mil, we still have the 2nd most cap room in the NFL, which is why its not a big risk, its not gonna hurt us financially

Jack is compared to luke kuechly, we have Telvin who is good, Poz still solid

We are building the DL, Fowler, Marks back, Jackson, Odrick, young guys getting better, plus draft

DBs he will have a lot of help, Gipson, House on the other side, Prince

Its a great fit, we are not gonna put Norman on the field with a bunch of scubs

This is true, but with BB5 on his rookie contract you spend money on guys like this hoping it works out. If he is overrated you shed most of the $$ before resigning your young guys.

Oh, and I would love to see Norman here, but won't be mad if he isn't here.
1-2 would end up being Norman and Prince, House would play slot.

Not sure I would want Norman.

It's rare that teams rescind the Franchise tag on a CB, especially considering how important he was to their Super Bowl run. Their GM said the distraction of a holdout wasn't worth it.   His demands must be outrageous.

Secondly, he's 29 years old by season's end.  He won't be too far away from being in decline.

Furthermore, I want nothing to stand in the way of retaining as much of our young offensive talent as possible.

If we DO sign him, I hope it is very short term-no more than 2 years.  But somehow I suspect he wants something longer term.

We can't make a contract that could hurt this team financially. It may not be "worth it" but he will definitely be able to pay him and whoever else earns it. Unless Khan doesn't want it, but hey it's not my money.

Negative ghostrider
Prince is better than House.

There have already been a lot of negatives mentioned that make me not want to overpay for him, but are we all forgetting that this is the same head case who admitted to eye gouging against us earlier in the 2015 season? I'm not too confident I want that guy on my team.
