A couple of days ago, Chad Reuter of NFL.com came out with a 5 Rd mock draft.
Here are my selections from the players available to the Jags in that mock draft:
Rd 1(5) Jalen Ramsey - CB/S - FSU
Rd 2(38): Noah Spence - Leo DE - Eastern Kentucky
Rd 3(69): Jonathan Bullard - DE/DT - Florida
Rd 4(103): Matt Judon - Leo DE - Grand Valley State
Rd 5(146): Xavien Howard - CB - Baylor
This would be awesome if the Jags could load up on this kind of defensive haul.
I think I saw that mock. Reuter nailed it with Ryan Kelly at 38 IMO. Ramsey and Kelly and there is very little Dave could do the rest of the draft to make me come out if with with anything but an A.
Draftsite.com has a 7 round mock with us taking
Myles Jack OLB UCLA
Fuller CB Va Tech
Joe Haag OT NDSU
Chris Jones DT Miss St
Kenyan Drake RB Bama
Alex McCalister DE UF
Clay DeBord OT Eastern Washington
Mykhael Quave OT ULL
I would go:
1. Myles Jack LB UCLA- We get our stud to add to the D.
2. Karl Joseph SS WVU- Cyp is not the answer. Sample is young but Joseph is too good to pass up. Can be a playmaker from that in the box safety spot.
3. Kamalei Correa OLB/DE Boise State- Guy can rush the passer from the edge.
4. Harlan Miller CB Southeastern Louisiana- Insurance for Prince. Potential starter once he adapts to NFL speed.
5. Conner McGovern G Mizzou- Not sold on the joke moving inside to guard and being productive.
6. Alex McCalister Edge UF- More pass rushers!
6. Nick Vigil MLB Utah State- Possible replacement for Poz. Not a thumper but in today's NFL that is okay as he is athletic.
7. Jon Jones CB Auburn- Slot corner. Adds quality depth to the secondary. House and Prince on the outside (Miller/Gratz/McCray backups) Colvin in the slot (Jones/Marshall backups).
Very defense heavy but adding talent and quality depth needs to be a priority for this draft class.

Based on that mock:
1. Myles Jack - Obvious pick
2. Karl Joseph - My dream is Ryan Kelly at 38, but with Westerman probably unrealistically available in the 3rd round Joseph's value is a bit higher
3. Christian Westerman - Not hard to find people who like him better than Whitehair and Garnett as OG1
4. Chris Jones - Basically Buckner's clone. Usually mocked 1st round so this is a steal.
5. Deion Jones - Would probably be my #3 wish at 38 if Kelly and Joseph happen to be off the board.
6. Matt Judon - He or McCalister would be very good picks this late, but Judon appears to have a better head screwed on an equally great physical package.
6. Jihad Ward - How the bleep is he still on the board? Could easily be a 2nd rounder.
7. Ronald Blair - Yet another DL who wouldn't be surprising to see go day 2. This quartet of rookie DL would add a huge injection of versatile talent.
Jack and Joseph are maybe my 2 favorite players in the draft but If we take Jack in the first is the only way I wouldn't want Joseph in the 2nd. Fowler and are top 2 picks all coming off knee injuries would be risky
Jack then Kelly are really the only things that matter to me.
Also like James Cowser a lot
My selections from the Draft Site 7 Rd Mock Draft;
Rd 1(5): Myles Jack - LB - UCLA - Starts at MLB
Rd 2(38): Kevin Dodd - DE - Clemson - 2nd Leo DE
Rd 3(69): Kamalei Correa - DE/LB - Boise State - Could play Otto or Leo
Rd 4(103): Chris Jones - DT - Mississippi State - could develop into another Malik Jackson
Rd 5(146): Deion Jones - WLB - LSU - pure speed as a backup WLB and special teamer
Rd 6(181) Matt Judon - DE - Grand Valley State - super sleeper at Leo DE
Rd 6(201) Sean Davis - FS - Maryland - Size and speed to backup Gipson

Not sure Dodd fits the LEO

I would amend this to Garnett in the third round. Didn't see him on the list just got excited when I saw Westerman still available. I know several people that would still take Westerman over Garnett but I'll defer to the majority that would lean Garnett.
Also would flip to McCalister instead of Judon. After a second look and seeing that Judon's measurables actually weren't as stellar as I remembered I would switch to the higher upside McCalister.
All the other picks would be insanely good still.
Those mock draft games are horrendous and no one should use them

The fact they are so horrendous is what makes them fun
On fantasysharks, we're doing a mock draft where homers draft for their own team. Looks like we're only doing three rounds, since it kinda falls off after that. Wanted to address our interior line, but didn't see anyone worth taking at each spot:
http://www.fantasysharks.com/forum/viewt...2&t=337219
So far grabbed:
1. Bosa
2. Karl Joseph
3. Ngakoue
That should help our defense quite a bit if it happened like that. Debated between Ngakoue and Deion Jones, but I feel the former is more versatile and could play both OTTO and LEO.

You probably think Drake makes good music... Your opinion is irrelevant.

sick draft so far

Thanks
If it goes round 4 I may look at Westerman or Tuerk for an interior lineman. Depends on who is there. Maybe an ILB.
