I don't know what games you folks are watching sometimes. Have you seen either Gabby or Henne pat the ball even once this season? Have you seen either of them step up into the pocket (there is no pocket)? Have you not seen Mjd get hit behind the line on almost every carry?

No they don't see it because their hatred for gabbert is so bad they let their bias get in the way.

I can agree that this season that could be the issue, of course there were times last year and the year before that the line played well and Gabbert still made foolish mistakes.
Quote:Not according to David Garrard who said on the radio the downfield plays don't have time to develop.
I think I respect his opinion more than yours. No offense intended of course.

You don't need to depend on David Garrard to tell you what you can see. Do you also find it odd that the coaches are pushing Blaine to take more chances and throw it down field? Why would they do that if he never has time? Because, even with all the pressure, you can find plays where the QB DOES have time. Watch the game.

Yes I have. You are over exaggerating. Have we given them adequate time consistently? No, not even close, but are there times in a game where they do have time. Yes, absolutely. If they didn't, then Gus and Company wouldn't be pushing Blaine to take more chances down field.
Well with YOLO Gabbert unleashed, I fully expect awesome plays, as well ridiculously bad plays.
Can't wait for Sunday!

Between Rackley playing like he's drunk with all his stumbling and getting overpowered on the majority of his plays and Meester whiffing, they maybe get a handful of plays to go deep if there's a receiver going deep on said play.

Well, let me ask you this and if your answer is no then gabbert can't be blamed for everything wrong with this franchise. Did the last 2 years he had the coaching, talent or structure to compete at the highest level?

Gabbert's fault. No wait, he's been out...

Stop making excuses for the guy.

At the highest level? Probably not but he was playing at the lowest possible level.

There's no probably about it because he didn't have the things to succeed at the highest level especially at coaching which is monumental in the NFL.

The problem here is that if you're a QB drafted in the top 10, everyone expects you to be the franchise guy. The one thing people can count on when times are tough. To help make the team better no matter what is going on around you.
We keep making excuses about how Gabbert hasn't had this or he hasn't had that. How about doing it no matter what? Locker (god I hate him) is actually winning some games. Gabbert needs everything around him to be perfect if he is going to succeed. Thats not gonna happen here so quickly. We need someone who can lead us to wins even when things breakdown.

No excuse for his play last year, it was a joke.

In fact his situation from a coaching standpoint for the last 2 years was lame duck, incompetent coaches and coordinators who was terminated from someone else's coaching staff. i.e. greg olsen, and bob bratkowski

I like that comment "no, not even close" but that's where it stops because when the QB (Blaine or Henne) has time the plays have NOT been called for deep routes because "no, not even close."
And telling me to watch the game is enormously ignorant. I've seen every game the Jaguars have ever played, EVER!

If the coaches didn't think it could be done and the QB's were never getting enough time, then they wouldn't be encouraging Gabbert to take risk and throw it deep this week. That is the main message going into this game.
The previous regime wanted to avoid the interceptions at all costs. Apparently this regime is willing to forfeit some turnovers to loosen up the kid and the offense. It's only a different approach to winning, nothing else.

He was at fault but wasn't the only person to blame for last year's struggle. There's a reason why they had to blow up the team, coaching staff and front office because everything was bad including his play.

And in order to take that approach, he will at times have to have time. Which he will, at times.
