Quote:And in order to take that approach, he will at times have to have time. Which he will, at times.
So, when he takes the 7 step drops to execute a deep pass route and the rush is in face resulting in a sack then the coaches and you will declare that this was the plan. It will be accepted as part of the medicine to cure the illness?

There is no cure. At least not this year. There is only getting better. I think you have to try. Because if you don't, it doesn't matter anyways. I'd rather Gabbert get sacked trying to stretch the field then throw 5 yard and under passes throughout most of the game. We are losing the way we are playing right now. We were losing playing it safe last year. If you heard Gus, Gabbert is a pleaser and doesn't want to make mistakes which results in making mistakes. So with nothing to lose, go out, and let it rip.
If Gabbert had any pocket presence, he would be able to move around to create room. The Steelers have as bad a line as we do, but Big Ben still is able to move. Granted, Blaine is no Big Ben, but he has no pocket awareness. He sees the first guy come and immediately ducks and runs into the other waves of rushers. Good QB's step up to avoid the first guy, letting the lineman push him behind the QB and then plant and throw. Granted there are plays where no pocket presence in the world can prevent a sack, but I would bet on at least half of the sacks, Blaine either runs straight into the first guy and gets sacked, or runs away from the first guy, only to run right into the next guy.

Every QB is different so they find different ways to create a pocket for themselves when the line breaks down. Gabbert has never ever been able to do this.
In my opinion as a long time Jacksonville Jaguars fan, I really want Blaine Gabbert to perform at a 70 or higher rating in this game. If he doesn't (Insert excuses here ____) than he should be benched in lieu of at least Chad Henne whom overall has a better QB Rating and gives the team a slightly better chance at winning. I would prefer that they either sign, trade for a QB or at least give Ricky a chance to see what he can do. I mean its only week 4 and yet the offesense seems hopeless.
Quote:Ok the thread is 13 pages long and someone has to say it........ If Jaguars FO want to continue to shove Blaine "Captain of the Titanic " Gabbert down our throats for no other reason that to purposely lose games, then why not Tebow? There is entertainment value in bringing Tebow and I know a lot of you guys hate this next fact but Tebow can help us win more than Gabbert. ...hands down. if only taking direct snap runs all game. At the very least it won't be any worse with an upside of excitement. The QB this year is a place holder anyway.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Let Tebow go!.....

Why would we trade for a QB when the best QB draft in a while is going to be there for our taking? And why sign a fill in guy? For what? He would have to learn the system and would probably be just as bad. Ricky is the only thing you said up there that is worth talking about.

In a while? You mean 2 years ago with Luck RG3 Dalton Wilson and Tannehill?
This one is deep but that one 2 years ago... Yikes. Good thing we didn't take any of those guys!
Quote:Yeah for everyone looking to Henne... He shows up twice on this list of awful performances

yikes!!!!!!!!!!
No one is looking to Henne. No one on here wants him to be our QB. They don't want Gabbert either. They both suck.

He took it to the streets.

It is one of the best in the last 10 years. I should have said that.

Why do people have a hard time understanding this? Well, more specifically oklahomie.

What do you think I misunderstand?
We're all in agreement here, Gabbert is the only logical guy to start as long as he's reasonably healthy.

That Those that want Henne to start are not Henne fans. This is something you cannot understand. Actually, I have not seen anyone agree with your silly eye test arguments. The only thing some fans agree with including me is that Gabbert should start. Not because he is better, but because there is a glimmer of hope he may finally start putting things together.

I think you misunderstand how much people don't like Henne. You tend to think Gabbert is clearly better than Henne when its not that clear because they are both soooooooo bad
Quote:Yes, but if we extend that query to include 2011, Blaine shows up twice as well. Neither are the answer.

Right, so since Gabbert improved and Henne is still awful we know for sure that Gabbert is not the answer.
LOGIC!
