Quote:We're guaranteed the #1 pick in the draft now. I'd rather see what Stanzi can do. Look what Brian Hoyer ( 3rd string QB for the Browns) did against the Vikings.

It's bad when the Browns 3rd stringer is better than your 1st. Rd franchise QB.

3 Ints and you're ready to crown Hoyer as belonging?

No, but doing so with your #1 WR just coming back after suspension and with your #1 RB being traded only days before, it was pretty impressive.  He did struggle, but I don't think anyone expected Cleveland to win and he fought and came back in that game.
Gabbert VS Henne in the battle of NFL's worst QB.

So if MJD is out for the StLouis game and Gabbert throws 3 picks with Blackmon coming back off suspension you'll be impressed?

If he threw for over 300 yards, 3 TD's and 3 INT's, hell yeah I would be impressed. Have you been watching Gabbert play?

I watched the game. He was'nt afraid to throw the ball down the field Yes, he threw int's but that did'nt make him gun shy. He showed more poise for his 1st start, than Blaine has shown in 25+ starts.

Yep, and it hasn't been impressive. Of course if Gabbert gets 54 attempts against the Vikings he could probably hit 300 yards, too.

It's funny how you guys think chucking it down the field haphazardly is the same thing as poise.

It's no wonder so many people here wanted Henne.
Its Gabberts time. Henne is a back up, and will always be. Although 10 out of 12 jurors have given up on both, this is the time to let him finish the season. IF he does "get it", he may stay in the league. Maybe as Henne2. Maybe, by some miracle, something clicks. I am not impressed with him either. But with our line of matadors protecting him, he may face an uphill battle. With Jack Blackmon and Lewis returning, and a relatively healthy MJD, there are no more excuses.
There is no Andrew Luck in next years draft, so a Bridgewater may not be the answer either. Want exposure? Bring in Johnny Football ( flame away )
I rather suck with Gabbert and hope he plays well then Henne and know this is it.
why is the coaching staff so high on blaine?  does he bring enough candy to share with the WHOLE class, thus is the favorite by all the jaguars coaching staff?

it seems to be a constant through multiple regimes, however, one thing is true - blaine is a playing the part of being a jaguars franchise quarterback, definitely striking par for the course.
Quote:Blanie it on the Henne
Nice!
Quote:Seriously, Henne and Gabbert are basically the same guy.  Hopefully the offensive line won't have to duck for Gabbert's passes.

I wish we could combine them.

Give Henne's fearlessness and pocket presence to Gabbert and you have a pretty good quarterback. Gabbert will never throw the ball to anyone who isn't wide open, which is frustrating. If you have your best receiver one on one with an average corner, GIVE HIM THE BALL!

At least Meester was cleared for contact this week after that vicious hit to the head.
They're both terrible. <3

Lets go Teddy
I'd rather watch Gabbert play at least with him there's a 25% chance he might turn it around. But with Henne he's been in the league to long to play how he plays.
this is great news...no need to win. lets lose out and secure that #1 spot...take the 2 first rounders and maybe more from the Browns and build a new talented roster

Well with his career YPA of 5.51, he would have 297 yards with 54 passes.
After listening to Bradley's presser - I'd expect to see Gabbert take a few more shots downfield.  Sounds like he will be encouraged to do so...  (23 min.)

Quite different from the Mularkey era "PROTECT THE BALL ALWAYS" mantra.

Indeed.   I found it odd that the lone interview with the QB coach last season (now Oaklands OC) had  Olsen saying that Gabbert needed to be encouraged to throw downfield.  He and Mularkey obviously had different philosophies.
