I didn't realize how NASTY Teddy's numbers this season were until just now. 72% Completion Percentage 16 TD's 1 INT 10.7 YPA QBR 93.0 (for reference Peyton Manning is currently at a 92).

At first glance, Tampa appears to have winnable games against Philadelphia, Carolina, Buffalo, and St. Louis left on their schedule. The Giants have Minnesota, Philadelphia and Oakland as winnable games left, while Pukesburgh has the Jets, Oakland, Buffalo and maybe Cleveland as winnable games left.
The way I see it, Tampa is our real competition for Bridgewater.

Pittsburgh should be in at least 5 of their next 7 games. So I think they'll be out of this conversation soon.
Tampa though has that aura of a team in such dissaray that they only get 1 or 2 wins.

The good news is that they've at least have been in their games for the most part.

Absurdity of the Giants taking a QB aside, this is a pretty good article on Teddy;

Quote:“[Bridgewater] is smart, he’s a character guy, he’s poised, he’s got good size, he can make all the throws and he can do it on the run, too,” an NFC general manager told The Post on Monday. “Any team in the top five would take a very long look at him, even if they’ve got a franchise [quarterback] already.”
Quote:“Bridgewater’s the best of the whole group,” said NFL Network draft analyst Gil Brandt, who was referring to the entire draft and not just the upcoming quarterback class.
Quote:“You can tell by the way [Bridgewater] plays that he lives in the film room,” an NFC college scout said Monday. “He understands defenses, doesn’t lock into one [receiver] and has good downfield vision. Very impressive kid.”
Quote:Louisville’s offense also calls its plays at the line of scrimmage, yet Bridgewater rarely — if ever — has the Cardinals in the same play twice in a row. It’s a skill that confounds college defenses and wows NFL draft graders.
“That’s Drew Brees stuff,” Temple defensive coordinator Phil Snow, who has NFL coaching experience, told reporters last week. “That’s Peyton Manning.”

Here's hoping the Buccaneers beat the Eagles this weekend.

As soon as I saw this on their schedule two weeks ago I sacrificed a bald eagle to give the Buccaneers spiritual eagle aid.

Your wife's an Eagles fan?....I feel sorry for you. Chick-Eagle fans are only superceded by chick-Steelers fans as some of the weirdest/ annoying/ odd/ obnoxious people I've run across....

Most obnoxious female fans in the NFL are Tebow fans. Same goes for males. Funny how that works :whistling:
Her second team is the Jags, so it's all cool.

Quote:You know after watching almost all of Bridgewaters games I really wouldn't mind taking Devante Parker with that second round pick. He just makes play after play after play..
We'd have to look elsewhere for a LB or CB which is what i hope we do with the 33rd pick while we wait to take a G or OT in the 3rd but id be happy with stacking the offense for our new QB.
JB,Shorts,Sanders,Parker........that is scary. I actually kinda want us to do this the3 more i type it and just load up on FA O-lineman and take a LB in FA. Find another LB and DE in the mid rounds as well as 1 or 2 O-lineman. Screw the TE position just line up 3-4 wide every play and let Bridgewater do his thing.

I think that with Vick out, this is a game that the Bucs should have a pretty good chance to win.

An interesting read...
Funny, because I was just saying to someone yesterday that for all the media hyperbole and message board hyperbole the Jaguars have been getting lately about being the "worst of all time" and all that nonsense....a good argument could be made that the Jags aren't even the worst team in the league this season - the Giants are.
10-08-2013, 09:06 PM
I still think we are way worse. We have just been better at putting the ball in the end zone in garbage time.

The Buccaneers currently have a higher SoS than us I think.
Here's who we should be rooting for this week I believe: (In Bold) Underline means more important
New York Giants @ Chicago Bears
Detroit Lions @ Cleveland Browns
Carolina Panthers @ Minnesota Vikings
Pittsburgh Steelers @ New York Jets
Tennessee Titans @ Seattle Seahawks
A Steelers win does help put them away from us though.

I agree. hoping Doug Martin can go off on the extremely weak Philly run defense. Tampa has a good defense too and hopefully they can give Foles some trouble.
