You still have trouble admitting Geno Smith was terrible value at #2, so I don't expect you to come around with Teddy Bridgewater anytime soon.

What constitutes overvalueing him? Becuse his opinion is different than Mayock? We wont know who is right for 3 years, same with Geno who you have an odd fetish for bringing up whenever you can.

It's like you don't read any posts. I've said countless time I did not have geno'a value correct. I still think he is will be a franchise qb but I was wrong on how nfl teams valued him.

The problem with members like you is you take this message board way too seriously, seemingly holding a random fans scouting opinion/credibility (or lack thereof) in the same light as an actual scout. News Flash, 99% of the people on this board don't know how to scout players, so to come back and point the finger at someone that was wrong is stupid, hypocritical, it makes you look like a JA. I listen and disagree on wide variety of opinions on this board, but at the end of the day, that's all they are.

The problem with members like you is that you don't realize how much flack the posters I called out gave myself and others during the season. I'm not just calling out random fans who disagree with me, that would be ridiculous. I'm also not just calling out random fans who were wrong about a player, that would be ridiculous.

 

For 6 months we were schooled on how dumb we were for wanting Clowney over Bridgewater, the "Franchise QB". Heck, I even said that I'd be fine with Bridgewater, but that I think Clowney is much more of a sure-fire stud. Even that line of thinking was unacceptable to the Bridgewater-brigade. Calling out those posters who ridiculed our line of thought is not ridiculous.

To be fair, you had the queen of the Bridgewater brigade who was leading that charge.  His tone has changed dramatically, although he'll deny it and say he still thinks Bridgewater is the best QB in the draft even if he isn't the first one taken. 

 

People were talking about Clowney as the guy to draft a year ago when he wasn't even part of the discussion.  One highlight from one play in one game transformed him into this monster every team should covet.  I'm not saying he isn't one of, if not the best prospect in this draft.  But, a lot of people were touting Clowney as an option as long ago as last year.  Anyone who would ridicule over that assertion had their own agenda.

"Bridgewater would have gone above Clowney if they were both eligible for the 2013 draft, so I'm not really sure what you're trying to imply there.

 

You're talking about projections from bloggers and journalists well over a year before their draft takes place. I don't care about their opinions. NFL scouts have had Bridgewater going first overall for quite some time now, and Clowney has zero shot of going number one in a draft that contains one or multiple franchise quarterback prospects. Zero. Absolutely none. Now factor in that he'll require foot surgery.

I still think you're mixing me up with someone. I always posted my opinion but I didn't discredit anyone. The only person I believe I said inappropriate things to was pirkster and that was during a Geno debate. More often than not I just stated my reasoning. Not denying some posters called people idiots for not liking a prospect but I don't think I was one. I enjoy the back and forth about players. It's what makes the draft fun.

No, the phrase was basically 'If you don't have a franchise QB, and someone you have graded as a franchise QB prospect is available when you are on the clock, then you take them ahead of anything else.' 

 

The phrase is an ideology, not specific to Teddy, Clowney, or anyone else. That said, I do grade Teddy as a strong franchise QB prospect and I would still absolutely take him ahead of Clowney.

 

Plenty of other highly regarded draftniks would take Teddy #1 as well, such as Josh Norris, Dane Brugler, Doug Farrar, Matt Miller, and Matt Waldman...all of whose opinion I value over any of the ESPN/NFLN guys. 

I don't get why everyone keeps comparing Teddy's situation to Geno's last year... Its nowhere even close, Geno didn't get recognition till the Baylor game, and his stock started falling mid-way through the season. Teddy was the consensus number one Qb from the start of the season till the end. Teddy's stock didn't start falling till his pro-day...so please don't compare the two... I still believe Bridgewater is the best Qb in the draft, but i wouldn't complain if we got Johnny Football.

Re-read the Clowney vs Bridgewater thread then get back to me. I already posted a quote from early in that thread (before things even got heated) saying that Clowney had ZERO chance at going #1.

Overvaluing = suggesting we take him at #2 when his real value was second round.

 

People who wanted him at #2 were DEAD WRONG for suggesting that and some still can't admit it.

So... more like Clausen, a fall that began before draft day?  Whatever makes you happy I guess.  I just hope they don't give him the Brady Quinn/Geno Smith cam during the draft, cutting to him after every pick.  That would be completely unfair.  It's degrading and worn out, and diverts discussion from the guy who got picked.
