I can't wrap my head around people saying they would rather have Flacco than Stafford. Throw out the team body of work, because the Lions organization is a joke. Stafford is a better quarterback than Flacco. I have to wonder if those who say Flacco is better have actually watched the two play the QB position.
Flacco is great when it's 'on' for him. The problem is, when it's not. You see him do things like throw 5 interceptions. It's similar for Eli Manning. Rex Grossman. David Garrard. QB's who have an off switch. You'll see every QB have bad games. It's going to happen no matter who you are. But the better QB's tend to not turn it 'off' when they have an off day.
I'm still confused as to why Flacco was brought up in this thread. Someone was making a hypothetical out of a hypothetical just for the sake of an argument lol..

Pretty much Hail and Heero's bread and butter.
It's a common tactic by people when they are discussing things that they aren't all that fluent in.

Ya, my college football knowledge is scarce, man.

Please don't make me dig up Devon Gardner posts...
Quote:I think some of the posters here have an underdog complex. They want to root for the second or third best prospect to step up and steal the spotlight. Or they just like being different.
I mean that is the only real explanation I can come up with for wanting guys like McCarron, Murray, or Carr.
Couldn't have said so better myself. This team's number 1 need has been the qb position for the last three seasons, yet, some ppl on here *cough* hailtoyourvictor *cough* feel the need to take some 2nd round project just because they think this class is "deep".

HeeRo is denying that there are any "experts" that have favorably compared Teddy to Andrew Luck on the other forum. I brought up that you and others have provided many examples where people have favorably compared the 2. No, not carbon copies, but favorably.

You are talking about my lack of CFB knowledge and then spell Devin Gardner's name wrong. Ironic.
You clamoring for Geno Smith at pick #2 is a lot worse than me saying Gardner was worth a mid-round pick. We were both wrong, though. I'd rather throw away a mid round pick than throw away the #2 overall pick, wouldn't you?

Don't blame me. Blame Teddy for being one of the best QB prospects of the past decade.
Bruh.

I actually like Gardner a lot. I think he has a place in the NFL. Could be a decent backup someday. Too bad most of his development time at Michigan were given to Denard. Can he stay another year at Mich or has he already used up his eligibility after this year?

He was given a medical redshirt, meaning he has another year of eligibility. I think he would be wise to take it. However, he graduate in May 2013, so I don't know if he would sit around for a year and a half when he already has his Michigan degree.

Why wouldn't he take the opportunity to play college game next season? What's the NCAA requirements for him to stay anyway, does he have to be enrolled in class? Just take Ballroom Dancing or cooking class or something just to meet the requirement. What would he do next year if he doesn't declare for the NFL draft? Sit around unemployed while net surfing for job opening just like 85% of recent college grads in America?

I'm really surprised by how well spoken he is for his age. I imagine that he will tear up the interviews this spring.

He'd be drafted in 2014 if he declared as a Wide Receiver.
Also, he has all the physical tools, he has the size, he has the arm, he has the speed, he has the vision. Gardner's biggest problem (and it is a huuuge problem) is his decision making. If he doesn't fix that, he will never be a QB in the NFL. However, NFL Pro Days and the Combine focus almost entirely on the physical skills. Gardner's performance in shorts might get him a round 5-7 grade (See: Manning Skills Academy).
Gonna call it out, Bridgewater stays in hopes to win a national championship
Great performance by Teddy. Unfortunately his defense was on the field all game blowing loads.
