I think far too many people think that Coughlin has some kind of say over who starts/get's benched, etc. He doesn't. He is essentially Dave Caldwell's direct supervisor as well as Doug Marrone's direct supervisor. The decision is Marrone's alone.
My guess is Marrone as well as some of the other coaches and coordinators are gone at the end of the season.
Caldwell may or may not have a warm seat right now. It all depends on how Coughlin and ultimately Mr. Khan views the Head Coach selection as well as the moves at QB.

You're naive if you think that he is. If that was the case then it would make him a micro-manager. I think Mr. Khan is smart enough not to hire micro-managers to work for him.

I thought I saw that they argued about Foles having to start thats what i saw on twitter Coughlin and Marrone

Tom has been a micro manager his entire career. Also, what evidence is there that Shad makes smart hires football wise? Certainly not anything we've seen since he took over

No, no, and no. A certian player has said that coughlin has changed their mind about resigning. Ramsey is gone due to coughlin interferring. It seems you are ignoring the facts that prove otherwise just to keep the man. If you like TC then cool. Dont make it seem like we are the crazies though.

TC is going to the HoF as a head coach eventually but as an EVP and a guy making personnel decisions...well, we sometimes forget the salary cap issues that came up when he was the GM and coach back in the 90s. I have a feeling that Khan may bring him back though with a new GM and new coaching staff, we'll see.

You don't have a clear memory of TC.
He is and always has been an EXTREME micro-manager.

I really don't like this idea but I have a feeling that it's going to happen as well.

So you don't believe Tom Coughlin is a micro-manager?!
Khan is extremely brilliant but name a good football decision he has made. Khan hired Coughlin for nostalgic reasons and certainly not for his track record as a GM or VP.

I don't necessarily like or dislike Coughlin. The fact that the Ramsey situation made it to him is/was on the player.

If you think that Mr. Khan hired Coughlin for "nostalgia" then you are really naive.
What evidence is there that Coughlin is a micro-manager? He didn't make the decision to start Foles, that was on Coach Marrone. He didn't make the decision to bench Foles, Coach Marrone did. He doesn't call plays, decide who starts or any of that.
Again, some of you people think that he has a hand in way more than he really does. He basically makes the decisions for Mr. Khan and will probably be the one that fires Marrone at the end of the season. I kind of have my doubts that he fires Caldwell, but I could be wrong on that.

Hiring Coughlin for nostalgic reasons is my own personal thought. The Jags were at the end of ANOTHER losing season and Khan needed a boost in ticket sales. So why not bring back the only guy who ever really won with the Jags? Try to sell this hard nosed attitude that we will “win lunch”. But in reality, this team is undisciplined and they win nothing. So is that Marrones fault or Coughlin? Coughlin was brought in to change everything right?
Coughlin is a bad VP and terrible GM but a great coach. If you truly believe that he hasn’t played a part in any of the decisions Marrone makes then I can’t help you there.

He is and always has been an EXTREME micro-manager.
He wasn't allowed to have the control to micro manage in NY and he experienced his greatest success.
Don't think that thought is lost on him.
I'm sure that he realizes wearing too many hats cost him his job here the first time around.

Disagree on the HOF thing, but that's a whole other debate for a different day.
The last statement is my nightmare scenario. It would result in more of the same blandness and discontent. Priority for replacement, for me at least is Wash, Doug, Tom, a big gap, Flip, and Dave.

I don't think Shad will bring him back for the simple reason he's gonna severely limit their ability to hire high end coaches /FO staff + basically cost Shad 50 million guaranteed for a backup QB

Why would a coach staff give a 6th round rookie extra reps at practice for the last few weeks, instead of using extra reps for the starter?
Perhaps... they knew Foles wasn't the answer. Perhaps they never wanted to make the switch and knew at some point, they'd have to switch back?
More evidence that the front office is meddling.
TC has GOT to go!

You see Tom's role is VP which means he's the boss of Caldwell and Marrone. He would never micro-manage or meddle.

Or maybe Marrone watched Foles play the first two games and decided he needed a contingency plan for his own decision.
