Also if I’m not mistaken, I think I read something in the new CBA that will vastly restrict players ability to hold out. Something along the lines of that they have to report to training camp within 5 days in order to receive an accrued season and mandatory fines if they hold out that can’t be waived by the team.

Great, so we pay him 20-ish mill to sit on the sideline holding his hammy?

Ramsey set the precedent. You don't have to sit at home and pout. You can sit on the sideline and pout.
this would be great for the Jags. This team needs a complete rebuild, Bottom out and tank 4 Trevor Lawrence

We could also easily fail at doing so, especially with Caldwell making the picks and Marrone coahing the rookies.
Even if we have a great draft I doubt this team wins more than 8 games. We still have Wash so our defense is gonna suck for sure.

....but we should hope to draft stinkers, right? All the good picks want to run away. @My psyche can't handle more rejection.@
Seahawks offering a 1st and swapping a 2nd for Yan. Not sure if real or not but i would think about that one.

Here's the source of that report.
I'm not sure exactly how connected Pauline is and how good his sources are but this is his take:

He's saying the Jags would get Seattle's #27 but would give up our early 2nd round pick to do so.
I wouldn't give up that pick.

What compensation would be enough to get DE Yannick Ngakoue and do you see Seattle Seahawks as a potential suitor?
I’ve been told by a very good source that the Seahawks would like to acquire Yannick Ngakoue via trade. My sources tell me they believe compensation would include something like a second-round selection and possibly a situation where the Seahawks swap their pick in round one for the Jags pick in the second round.
Not sure I’m digging the trade with Yan if all we do is move up 15 spots. There are still quality players available at our current 42nd pick. I wouldn’t hate it, but we should absolutely be able to get at least one more pick out of that.

Yeah. Giving away the 2nd round pick is a nonstarter in my book.

Jeez

Going back even to Jimmy and Blackmon, we have trouble keeping guys focused.

I mean who was the last player who played a career with the Jags? That loved the team and City? There was Poz but i cant think of the last guy we drafted who was here for a career, and was a talent. We had Mercedes and while we all love him, was he ever elite or top 5 TE? Other than that.....

Meester. A very good center from day one who tailed off late, but there was never any doubt that he loved the team and the city.

Mathis fits the bill as well.  Just not as many in the current era.

Looks like he’s taken a page from the Ramsey “Get out of town” playbook.

Attacking the fans that have supported you will probably be the nail in the coffin.
Get the best deal that you can for him and get it over with. Twitter and the inability to keep your mouth shut on it really annoy the living [BLEEP] out of me. Give him his way. See ya.

I feel the same way. I was on the "Pay Yan" bandwagon last season, now the Twitter Drama and "disrespect" card gets played WAY too much.  They are all replaceable assets. Get the best deal you can for him and ship him out.
Khan needs to get a grip on his front office. That's if he even really gives two [BLEEP] about this city and public perception at this point.

Yannick is pretty much going the Ramsey route now to get out of here. If we're going full rebuild they might as well trade him and trade Campbell out of here too while they're at it.

I would be shocked if this team finished 7 - 9 this year in total rebuild mode. But if Minshew is the real deal and they supply him with ample enough help on offense this year to overcome what it appears to be now a woefully decimated defense then I guess we'll be singing Caldwell's praises during next year's off season.

I am cautiously doubtful of this happening. But will fight and struggle all year to dance in the teal colored moonlight of optimism I guess.

[BLEEP] it.

This will be the most difficult aspect of the 2020 season.
Seems he deleted his "Locked Up" tweet?
A true pro! saint Ngakoue can do no wrong! make him stay!

Because he's not a future building block on this team. He may not even be on the roster for this upcoming season.

Not a building block but hes still our best player and one of the best defenders in the league.  If we do trade him we will get another high pick.  We wouldn't trade him for anything less than a 2nd

I don't think teams would trade a 2nd for one year of him
