I still think Dougs seat is cold right now, but unless we see a big improvement it's going to get hot.
I know Shad is super patient but when your paying to build a stadium and paying your QB, I wonder how patent he will be.

It is time for Doug to make up the infamous 3 envelopes.
https://news.amomama.com/268758-daily-jo...etter.html
Khan will write him a strongly worded letter in the offseason to set him straight, then all will be well.
I think if they fall apart this year? He's gone. As he should be. I don't care if people hate my opinion or not. He's fizzled out.
There's opportunities next year to add:
1. Bill Belichick
2. Mike Vrabel
3. Bobby Slowik
4. Ben Johnson
5. Mike Tomlin
I wouldn't wait around anymore if they completely [BLEEP] the bed this season in year three. Doug's beginning to come off as a B-lister, Mike McCarthy type.
One Superbowl win and you think your King [BLEEP] or something. We're not making the play off's with 15 PPG. We're not winning this division with this redzone offense and short yardage offense being as bad as it is.

We're about to go into next season with a rebuild on "Trevor"-Bank.
You think you want a lame team to get there? I guess, maybe?
But Shad also is investing on the Jaguars to be viable.
In 2022, I thought Pederson was the answer.
But it's 2024 and this offense looks like garbage. Oh, by the way, this O-Line is not the issue here. Pretending that the O-Line is a problem proves you don't watch other NFL teams. Every team has O-Line issues. Good coaches, good offensive coaches overcome that type of stuff.
I mean, to you really think our O-Line is that bad? I'm not saying they are great. But they are serviceable. It's the game plan, the play calling, the schemes. This offense should be much better than what we are getting.

Mike Tomlin? Man... In your dreams. Pissburg isn't letting that guy go. He's a great coach.
Our DC, if he can continue the success on D should be considered. And then let him go hire an OC from the Shannahan tree.

Vrabel would certainly make the Titan's games interesting.
Imagine seeing this guy and actually seeing strength in this football team

I don't think Doug is a bad coach. He's done a great job here, especially when you consider what he walked into. My worry is there seem to be cracks appearing. The death moment for any HC is when you lose the locker room and by no means do I think Doug has, but it feels like there are rumbles. Would winning a few games quiet that down? Probably but something is feeling a little off at the moment.

I think Shad would accept a maybe 7-10 year if there were reasons (injury etc) and a feeling next year would be much better.
If we stumble then we may see more co-ordinators sacrificed but Press seems a deal breaker.
Shad loves mediocrity.
If we win 7 to 9 games, he'll be a happy camper
Didn't Shad say this was a "Win" year?
With that said, I get it. We should learn to get better. Pederson still needs time to develop the team. The O-Line is a problem. Even though other teams have worse O-Lines than ours, we still need to execute and get better.
Urban Meyer killed this team in one year, back in 2021. So we need to wait another couple years for Doug to really turn this around. I mean, he got us to 9-8 twice. Might as well enjoy that.
I finally have a bit of a clearer thought process on this and honestly I think we’re misreading the Doug / Taylor situation on this; for what reason is he not taking back play calling?
Many say it’s because he’s loyal to a fault (ala Philly) but I think this time, it runs deeper. When this occurred in Philly, Taylor wasn’t yet elevated to that level of control. So him wanting to keep his guys made a bit more sense.
But now? It’s not loyalty.
I think Doug realized he made a massive unforced error last year. He crossed the rubicon with that announcement. I mean it would have eventually leaked perhaps. But it was the actual swap that was a mistake. And there’s no going back. He’s realizing that by him taking back full control, he basically is admitting he wasted a season where we potentially could have been the top seed, and is on his way to wasting a second year. two seasons of our QBs youth and a friendly cap situation. He’s stubborn. He’s prideful. And the criticism leveled would be one of “too little too late Doug”.
Doug is gone. The moment he made that decision and decided to stick with it come hell or high water, is the moment he sealed his fate. He could take it back behind the scenes. But if the offense suddenly, drastically improved in its calls to minimize the line issues, we’d all know. And again it would reflect poorly because then he’s just trying to bury his mistake. He’s averse to accountability.
Barring another 2017 Eagles run for the ages, he’s gone.

See my post above. He knows he messed up big time but it’s too late now
We are one of the worst teams in the legue.
I think you guys are all being too negative. Let's wait till after the Bills out class us... Then we can revisit the situaiton.

His presser sounded like that. That everything is a struggle and by now things should be of a certain standard and it's not and he's running out of ideas and energy to try and fix everything. I hope I'm wrong but I think the Buffalo game will give us a good indication of how people are feeling. Frustrations seem to be boiling over.
But everyone connected to the Jags just needs a W right now

Doesn’t matter if we win next week.
Texans are coming into their second home stadium. We are staring at not just losing the division but having a losing record

It looked a tough start before the season started but after the 2 performances, 0-4 is very possible. In a way I'm glad these are our next 2 games, these are the teams we need to be beating if we want deep playoff runs. These are the games that show how close/far away you are.
If we get destroyed in those 2 games, they can't hide behind any excuses.
