I see it the same way. The same gang that used to say "in gene I trust" are the ones saying Gus needs to be allowed another season of .500 or below. The way I see it is the team just has way too much talent to allow it to be wasted by bad coaching, and if the team can't dominate a terrible division with a franchise QB and pro bowl level talent all over the offense and defense then it should be obvious that coaching isn't getting it done.

I think some are mistakenly assuming rookies are going to come in and dominate and not make costly mistakes sometimes.  That's just not generally what happens.  I think this draft bodes well for 2 years down the road and beyond.  Also, throwing out a win/loss number without knowing how the season plays out is a little silly.  If I had to do it I would say 8 wins is a reasonable expectation which we could certainly surpass if rookies come in and play well.  But what if we went 7-9 and Bortles gets injured in the preseason and either doesn't play all year or comes back after the midway point and we start stringing together wins late?  What if Jalen and Jack get burned early and often and we lose games because of it?  What if Fowler blows out his other knee in the preseason and Yannick is underwhelming and we have no pass rush?

Do you ever shut up? What part of we didn't have the personnel on defense that could stop a team on third downs is Gus' fault? I guess he gets no credit for our offense becoming what it is though, right?

You seem to really be taking this message board stuff way too seriously, is Gus your husband?

But to make blanket pronouncements of playoff's, 8-8 and what ever else is premature.

Team has not make it to camp yet and who knows what will happen (injuries)

Setting high expectations is fine.

Setting yourself up for failure, not so much.

 

Lets get through Pre-Season first.

Dave has put so much talent on this team, that even with injuries (unfortunately, they always happen) this team should at least win as many as they lose based on talent alone.
