I'm learning things could be worse on the O-Line. People here in Cincinnati are in full panic mode after losing Whitworth and Zeitler. They know the Bengals are unlikely to spend high draft picks to fill those holes. Their immediate replacements (Ogbuehi and Fisher) are flat out terrible. Fisher is not good and Ogbuehi was so bad last year he had to be benched because he was getting Dalton killed. They already had needs at Center, because Bodine was so bad and losing their only two good O-Linemen really hurts. Now, Clint Boling (who is average) is their best O-Linemen. If anyone was thinking of drafting Andy Dalton in their fantasy league, I'd make other arrangements.

I remember being iffy about those two guys, but tinking the Bengals were drafting wisely because these two guys would have time to be groomed into the positions of LT and RT and be young there for a long time.
Funny how misses change the perspective.
So many teams need OL help through the draft, definitely going to be some reaching
Quote:I can agree with this idea at this stage.
He isn't what he was, but he's still decent, I think. He has seen every front and blitz and would give us better play than Wiz a few years back.
He could allow Linder to return to G.
What about Mangold at G? I'm not sure how suited he is for that, but it would make sense. Allow Linder to grow at C and get advice from a pro bowler.

I was iffy on Fisher, but thought he might have a chance to be decent. I hated Ogbuehi though. I have an admitted bias against Texas A&M OT's. They always seem to show too much finesse and not enough functional strength.

Exactly. That's why I believe the better O-Linemen are gonna go much quicker than people think. There are a plethora of teams with those needs and a handful of really good players.

You may be right about those A & M tackles.
The only one of those four that came out recently that is any good is Matthews-and he comes from a family of Hall of Fame football players.
All of the others-Joeckel. Ogbuehi and Ifedi-all seem to have the same issue.

It seems like they recruit a certain type of LT at A&M and they just don't project well to the NFL.
Looks like we signed DT Stefan Charles from Detroit as well. Maybe D6 can provide us some insight on him.
were meeting with latavius murray on monday per schefter
but latavius is trash and were already paying one running back a lot of money to not be good so idk why we need another one.
Raiders RB Latavius Murray is scheduled to meet Monday with Jaguars and Tuesday with Seahawks; per source.
!! Sign him up! Maybe saves us from running back at #4!!!

Yep, would be a much needed injection of top shelf athleticism at the position for us too.

If he signs I won't be shocked if ivory is traded or released but one advantage with him......UCF

if we cut him its like 7mil dead cap i believe
and who would trade for his contract?

TRUE but combine that with the potential contract we may give Fournette if that's the guy they like with keeping ivory and Yeldon. Which saves the most? I'm honestly asking. Top five picks get how much guaranteed?

Elliott is the #1 RB in guaranteed money, and Fournette would get more than that.

Latavius probably saves more but both options sound terrible.
I think if we hire Murray, it takes Fournette out of the picture. Then we go defense with our first round pick. A lot of great defensive players at the top of the first round.
