Quote:Latavius probably saves more but both options sound terrible.
Murray with the release or trade of ivory seems best because we have to save money somewhere. We're going to have quality receivers, art least one lineman and a good few defenders to pay. We can't afford to have a top five running back with that much money
Murray is a punishing running back at 6’ 3” and 230 pounds. He has 2,917 yards from scrimmage and 20 touchdowns on the ground in his first three seasons. He would be a fun addition and would all but preclude the Jaguars from taking Leonard Fournette or Dalvin Cook with the fourth overall pick. I don’t think you take a Fournette or a Cook with the money they’d have tied up in Chris Ivory, T.J. Yeldon, and Murray.

So... A.J. Bouye means no cornerback. Barry Church means no safety. Branden Albert could mean no offensive tackle. Calais Campbell could mean no defensive lineman. Latavius Murray would mean no running back. What position does that leave for the Jaguars at the top of the first rou-

Mother of God.

This made me laugh
I don't think signing Murray changes our draft plans at all. I still think we'd take Fournette. Murray is a solid backup, but he is not a starter material. If he was, the Raiders would've retained him. Instead, they will have a new starter, whether it be Adrian Peterson or a rookie. Let's not make out like Murray is some great rusher. He's decent, but nothing special. What signing him would mean is that we'd probably be cutting Yeldon (hooray!)

No it can't be fournette. Cause murray strength is goalline tds.  So grabbing fournette be pointless.  Now Cook or Mcaffery  I can see.

Dont know why. Dont waste cap space on Murray

I see Fournette and Murray working very well on one team.

If we signed Murray and drafted fournette still id probably just become a browns fan
But in all seriousness if we did sign Latavius its pretty much guaranteed we dont go fournette. Murray isnt a world beater but hes a 3 down back.
The interest in Murray might be a hint that they don't want to draft a running back. I'm not a Murray fan, but why bother if the plan is to pick Fournette.
Why do we keep signing free agent running backs? Murry only managed 4 yards per carry with a top 5 line he would get destroyed here.

Because the plan is to keep bortles.  And fournette needs a pocket passer. Which bortles is not.
I agree Murray is just a good number 2 back, and we have 2 of those guys on the team

Not sure about Murray but maybe they trade Ivory. Wouldn't make sense to cut Ivory or have both Ivory and Murray.

He's not a good 3 down back. He is the epitome of average.

Smokescreen.

Exactly.

Trade Ivory for a conditional 7th and cut Yeldon.

Ok but he is still a 3 down back. If you actually think wed have him and ivory and still draft fournette you're delusional.

And no one wants Ivorys contract either
Seattle?
