Quote:Relax. We'll get our franchise QB in the 2018 draft.
Probably this, If Blake is still terrible(likely) and we win 2-6 games we will have a top 12 pick, and can trade up if we really need it. If Blake doesn't return somewhere near his 2015 numbers and/or we don't see a significant increase in efficiency, we are going QB again in the 1st.
Quote:No wonder Campbell signed with us, 14 million a year.
HOLY.... Wow. lol. Overpaid, but thats how FA works.
There is no doubt about it. We will have a backup option or a potential starting qb this year.

Holy shenanigans. Tom not giving an F.
Quote:I'd rather pass on Bouye and Bennett if it means we get Zeitler. He needs to be priority #1 IMO.

Agreed. Zeitler was my #1 target in FA. Getting him would be huge for our offense.

Wow, I guess you no longer have faith.

Personally, I would still try and trade down in this draft, accumulating picks (I would aim for a 2018 first rounder.) That would give us more ammunition to get our franchise QB in 2018. By trading down, we could either get a solid OG like Forest Lamp (if we miss out on Zeitler in free agency) or we could get our LT of the future in Ryan Ramczyk. We could then draft a RB like D'Onta foreman in round 2 and a CB like Ahkello Witherspoon or Brian Allen in round 3.

Thanks, ColoJag!

Much like it was for the Jaguars,  it was a productive day for the Lions with LB Paul Worrilow joining RT Ricky Wagner as players that agreed to contract terms with the team.

The Redskins heavy interest in Calais Campbell very likely contributed greatly to him getting a HUGE payday.
Off to a really good start. Calais Campbell is awesome.
Quote:If that happens, I won't even bother to watch a game. Our offense would suck!
...

You saw those three were top 5 in several key rushing categories once Hackett took over until the end of the season...right?

Obviously I don't want that to be our RB depth chart, but come on now.

Look at their rushing stats over that time. Their average per carry sucked and that's all that matters. I don't care about the 5 other categories. In that time, Ivory averaged 4 ypc and Yeldon averaged 3.7 ypc. That sucks and it makes for boring football when you can't run the ball. I will not watch another season of such a pathetic backfield. We need a big time runner, whether it be Fournette or someone else.

I really wish I could find the quote but regardless I'm quite sure our average per attempt was in the top 10...certainly was middle of the pack at worst. Considering we are likely upgrading the run blocking aspect of the OL, that will only help.
The Jaguars are on the list.

Make him the highest paid OG in the league, just get it done.

True but they may be the one team ppl won't choose over us if the money is similar
I don't want Bennett for the simple reason is I think he can cause friction if things ain't going smoothly

I think he's a back-up plan in case the other 2 top Target isn't available.
