I CANNOT BELIEVE WE ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT BLACKMON. HE IS GONE, HAS BEEN GONE, AND WILL REMAIN GONE.

MOVE ON.

Quote:They just said on 1010XL this morning that Blackmon actually applied for reinstatement but was not granted it.

Speculation is that he either missed/no showed for a test or failed a test.

Sigh.

That's the latest information available.

Here's more info on the process:

I always wondered if trolling was still enjoyable even when you're terrible at it.

You're bringing the weak sauce.  Awesome.

Word to the wise.  Attempts to derail a thread by hijacking the subject and going off on a tangent is warning-worthy.  I'd consider issuing one if you were at least a little better at it.  Keep trying.  You'll get there.

Get drunk and beat up your girlfriend?  No problem.

Get drunk and kill somebody?  No problem.

But blackmon?  Oh hell no, SUSPEND FOREVER !!!!

Ridiculous.  :yucky:

Pretty sure it wasn't a language barrier, but no worries.

Back to the topic at hand.  Other than 1010XL regurgitating speculation from Mark Long, is there any other source out there who is stating that Blackmon HAS applied for reinstatement and it's been denied?  With the July arrest, I'm thinking he's not eligible to apply yet, but there's nothing to indicate what the date was for him to be eligible to do so.
the reason why people are still talking about him is because we never got closure.  we need closure to move on.

I completely follow what you're saying and agree that skepticism can be justified.  At the same time, I don't personally think there's any reason for Long to be presenting misinformation.  In fact, Long was one of the first to break the news Blackmon had voluntarily sought rehab.  That, also was something he broke on 1010xl.

That doesn't take into account what transpired last summer in July.  The league would no doubt have an issue with a player under suspension already being arrested and found to be in possession of a banned substance.  That's why I'm not so sure that the speculation that he has already applied and been rejected is necessarily accurate.

Sorry if I am not clear. I mean what does closure?

If you follow the link, Dirocco does mention the July incident in the very same article.  I doubt he'd mention it, and would certainly have commented on it, if that were to affect his reinstatement eligibility timeframe.

In fact, here's the tweet where he mentioned it in March.

So we've got two sources.  Dirocco explicitly stated the reinstatement guidelines in January, then reports his eligibility to apply in March.

In April, Long says he applied and was denied.

Again, I've got no reason to believe either has anything to gain from pushing misinformation about a player that isn't currently a factor on this team, since they are planning as if he won't be back.

If I'm wrong for choosing to believe this is all credible information and it later turns out not to be, then more fool me.

what is closure?  it means to have a sense of resolution or conclusion.

it would be like if somebody you know went missing.  you would constantly have to wonder what happened and if they will ever return.  then if one day you find out what happened to them or they come back, you would have closure.  you would be able to move on whatever the outcome, good or bad.
