To each their own I suppose.

We re-watched the entire series a few months back and I agree. I was disappointed the first time around but the show works a lot better on a binge watch. I think part of the issue is that when it was broadcast initially people had time to build up certain expectations that weren't met, so they got mad. There are some inconsistencies sure but overall it hangs together pretty well.

I told my husband people put too much stock into television shows. It's entertainment not a cure for what ails humanity. Sure I get frustrated with dumb storylines, bad acting, etc., but I'll just stop watching if it bothers me that much.

I couldn't stand Quantico for the same reasons I can't stand the new Missing Persons show I mentioned a few days ago so I simply stopped watching. My life doesn't depend on how good a TV show is, thank goodness.

Same. I dropped The Walking Dead like a bad habit after a specific character was killed off and the storyline just continued to fall flat.

I wish I could say the same but hubby really likes the show so I watch it with him. Really I'm either on here, doing crosstitch or surfing the net.
I'm watching a really great show on Hulu called "Mr Inbetween." It was made in Australia, and won some awards down there. The lead actor is also the writer. It's about a criminal.

Great show. Sort of sad it is over honestly. That guy is a bad [BLEEP].

Hulu had a couple pretty good shows… I’m pretty sure “only murders in the building” is a show on there and that was surprisingly good. Also, “what we do in the shadows” is really funny.

I'm in the middle of season 3 of Mr InBetween, and I'm noticing, Scott Ryan definitely has a thing about child molesters.  There have been 3 separate, unrelated stories about Ray killing a child molester.  There was the one where he tracked down a child molester for a client who wanted to know what happened to his daughter, there was the one where he slaughtered 3 people with a shovel who had kidnapped his daughter's friend, and there was the one where he tracked down the drug dealer who was the source of a drug his 12 year old daughter had taken, found the guy forcing a young teenage girl to do a sex act in exchange for drugs, and they don't show what happened, but we know what it was.

I'm watching the first season of Das Boot (The Boat) on Hulu is pretty interesting. It's in German with English subtitles. A few different stories going on with a submarine crew, a group causing all manner of trouble trying to disrupt the Germans, and a young lady who works for the government whose brother ties her to both storylines. IMDB shows there are four seasons but only the first one is on Hulu.

Have you ever seen the original Das Boot movie made back around the early 80s. It’s fantastic and probably the best WWII submarine movie ever made.

It breaks my heart to see another great movie legacy defiled by show writers devoid of new ideas.
Been watching yellowjackets, Ted Lasso, Succession, and mayor of Kingston.

Yellow Jackets is actually a very good show. Didn’t think I would like a teen high school girl soccer team show but it is a pretty twisted show. Cannibalism, murder, and plot twist galore makes it a crazy story line.

Ted Lasso is unique in that it is ultimately a feel good show that actually has great character arcs and a very engaging storyline.

Succession may be one of the best shows out right now IMHO. Especially this 4th and final season. Great acting and writing has put HBO back at the top in the TV show bracket imo. Definitely recommend this show to anyone who is looking to binge a new show.

Mayor of Kingston is a phenomenal show that started out quick and never really let up. Highly recommend this show to anyone looking for a new show to binge.

I don't know, the wife and I watched The Incredible Mr. Limpet the other night.. How Knotts didn't earn an Oscar for his seemless transition into a fish, beyond me..

lol
Beef on Netflix is fantastic. Just finished it in two days. It's a dark comedy series but it's got a lot of great lessons within it. Highly recommend it.

I saw the movie Das Boot several years ago and it was really a great movie. I don't know that the series is supposed to be a remake of the movie, it just has the same name.

Great movie, Das Boot. I think it triggered the beginning of my current case of claustrophobia.
The wife and I started watching Barry on HBO/Max last night.

Wow.. Where the hell have I been?!?

Great show!

I saw the first two seasons, which were quite good.  But then we ditched HBO.  We'll go back for Succession, and then I'll see whatever I haven't seen of Barry.
I just finished Stop At Nothing: The Lance Armstrong Story.

Damn. That man is a straight up sociopath. I never knew the whole story just bits and pieces. I know this isn't the whole story either because their are too many people who haven't told their side of it and likely never will, but it's a different side I hadn't heard before. Not to the extent this documentary tells it anyway.

The way he straight up lied to the judge during a deposition was just scary. I've seen snippets of that footage before but not in context of what was going on at the time. The way he threatened anyone who didn't get with the program either with doping on the team or supporting him during depositions was cold-blooded. He ruined careers and lives of people who wouldn't lie for him.

He had powerful friends who had the initial federal investigation shut down.

What an [BLEEP].

The entire sport was like that though, they just had the most money being spent on it.

It's easier to lie if you don't believe you are cheating because everyone is doing it. Everyone in the sport knew what was happening but they didn't know all the details.

I haven't watched it in years but since they "cleaned" it up somewhat, I think the sport has gone back to where it was before all the doping decades. Different strategies now have a chance since no one can power through the mountain stages every day and control pace on the flat stages.

The whole doping thing wasn't the problem for me in the show, it was how utterly ruthless Armstrong was in denying everything and then very publicly going after people both financially and personally who spoke out against him. Dude is a straight up narcissist and he still takes no responsibility for any of it.

Floyd Landis had a pair of giant steel balls for blowing the whistle on Armstrong after the federal investigation was quashed. He knew how crazy Armstrong was and did it anyway and had his own Tour de France win stripped in the process.

I watch the sport now.

He was right in his mind because it was part of the sport. On the outside, we see it as cheating but those in the sport were all doing it. The money being spent on the team and all the sponsorship empowered him to be able to go after anyone. Plus when you add he tried and failed before he got cancer, cheating just made it even with everyone else doing it.

Landis was basically done with the sport at that point but he was the only one with direct knowledge willing to speak out. I think it was more out of anger or jealousy that he wasn't protected like Armstrong was. Landis was caught but he was willing to go scorched earth where everyone else still wanted to either ride on other teams/lesser events or be involved with the sport.

I doubt he will ever say anything other than everyone else was doing it before I did it so it was the only way to compete.

I get Armstrong's mindset of "everyone else is doing it" but again his straight up ruthless and nasty behavior to ruin anyone and everyone who spoke the truth about the situation and about him was 100% wrong. A normal person doesn't threaten people like he did. Accept responsibility and the consequences of your actions.

Armstrong is a nasty piece of work for things he said publicly against others to prevent them from talking or just to get back at them.

There is no excuse for that behavior.
