M*A*S*H may have caused a plumbing breakdown in New York City

It seems that for fear of missing out, millions of viewers never stopped for toilet breaks during the M*A*S*H finale’s extra-long running time. As one urban legend suggests, they all ended up emptying their bladders at roughly the same time when the show ended. New York’s public works confirmed that many plumbing systems broke down — and it has been claimed that it was the highest usage of water at any one given time in the history of the city!

Tina Louise wasn’t popular on the set of Gilligan's Island

Tina Louise’s attempt to distance herself from Gilligan's Island more or less explains why she was not exactly a popular figure on set during filming. According to Bob Denver, while the rest of the Gilligan’s Island cast used to laugh and joke together in between takes, Louise was far happier being on her own. It was almost like she was stranded on her own personal desert island.

John Wayne received bourbon, not money, for The Beverly Hillbillies

It seems as though John Wayne made his guest appearance on the fifth season of The Beverly Hillbillies for love, not money. The Western movie legend reportedly only asked for a fifth of bourbon as payment for his brief cameo in the now politically incorrect episode, “The Indians Are Coming.” For those wondering, it was a bottle of Jack Daniels — an all-American beverage for an all-American film star.

Archie from All in the Family was misunderstood by a lot of people

The big reason Norman Lear made All in the Family was the anticipation that Archie was always going to be in the wrong. In every episode, someone would correct him or reprimand him — or try to, anyway. But when fans grew to love Archie so much that they called for him to be president, Lear couldn’t help but feel as though they had missed the show’s point.

Jack Daniels is whiskey, not bourbon.
Maybe Tina Louise was an introvert.

I don't mind being around people in limited time blocks. When I'm done, I'm done and I'll leave whatever gathering I'm in to be by myself. My in-laws had a hard time wrapping their heads around it.

Downtime is an introvert's best friend.
Get down, Tina!

I'm pretty much the same way. I prefer my own company most of the time.
I'm binge-watching Jury Duty on Amazon Prime. It's a really funny show with a great premise. Highly recommended.

It's funny but does take some liberties with the case that would blow it with anyone that knows anything about a trial.

The last episode does a good job of giving insights.

We've watched the first 3 episodes of The Last of Us and I'm pretty sure I'll never eat mushrooms again. It's an interesting way to create a pandemic situation but it does tend to spoil one who enjoys mushrooms on pizza. Lol
We’ve been watching Inventing Anna, the dramatization of the Anna Sorokov story on Netflix. Truth is stranger than fiction but in this case fiction is pretty strange too. I remember reading about the trial when it happened but didn’t know many details.
I started re-watching The Sopranos.  Haven’t seen it since it originally aired and I’ve never seen the last season or so.  I’m surprised how much seems ‘new’.  I’ve forgotten a good deal of it.  May do a re-watch of Boardwalk Empire after I finish this.  I’m hoping I can find the original True Detective with Woody Harrelson and Matthew McCaughnahey.  If you haven’t seen that watch it.  It’s kind of a shame that one was first.  It was so good it kind of spoiled the next two seasons for me.

All three seasons of True Detective are on HBO/Max. I agree the first one was outstanding. The second season I couldn't get past episode two. The third season was good in it's own way. I liked it anyway.

I started rewatching Justified and I'm with you on how much I'd forgotten.

If you have Hulu you should watch The Act. It's based on the true story of a girl whose mother had Munchausen and was poisoning her. Joey Porter plays the daughter and she sounds almost exactly like Gypsy Blanchard. It's freaky. Patricia Arquette plays the mom and she, as always, was fantastic.

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll check it out.
I'm watching season 2 of "The White Lotus." So far, I've gone through 5 episodes. I am completely taken with the actress Simona Tabasco.

At first my mind went to the Stillers' LB and I was so very confuzzled.
Last night we watched the first episode of The White House Plumbers on HBO. Very different than I expected. It is essentially a spoof about the guys who broke into The Watergate during the Nixon administration. I have to admit to laughing out loud on a few occasions.

Yep. I had to look it up on IMDB to be sure my memory was remembering correctly because it was feeling a bit off. Lol. She's a really good actress. Him? Maybe not.
We finished White House Plumbers and then binge watched Gaslit, same subject, very different take. Gaslit was a more serious look focusing mostly on John and Martha Mitchell and John Dean and to a lesser extent G. Gordon Liddy. Plumbers was a more comedic look at the relationship between Liddy and Howard Hunt.

Both series’ portrayed how comically incompetent the Watergate burglars were. Good stuff.
We're enjoying The Last of Us but goodness gracious does that girl have a foul mouth. I don't think she says a sentence without dropping at least one F bomb. It's lazy writing IMO. I know she's supposed to be rough and a hard [BLEEP] but I just don't see the point of her character specifically using so much language. If you're a good enough actor, which I think the actress is, you can convey it without diarrhea of the mouth.

That show is based off of the Video game "The Last of Us" and they made it a point to make the show follow the game almost identically. The story, the scenes, the landscaping, the wording, everything. Which is why Ellie has a foul mouth in the show, because she had one in the game.

I figured as much. I still don't think it's necessary for someone to use that much language but whatever. The F bomb used to be my favorite of all my colorful language but I guess I grew out of it all when I hit my 30s.
