Never watched Breaking Bad while it was on. Life was too busy during its 1st run. Catching up now on Netflix, and wow, did i miss out. Whatever awards it ended up winning, it deserved them.

That was one of the best TV shows ever.

What makes the show so good is not just the acting. The writing is seamless. There are no loose ends left hanging.

We don't know what happened to Jesse after he "drove off into the sunset" so to speak (I know there was movie that addressed that but the series didn't). For that matter, I remember wondering whatever happened to Badger and Skinny Pete at the end of the series, they kind of disappeared as nearly as I remember. They may have addressed that in the series but I don't recall it. No show is perfect but I agree this one was pretty darn close. So glad that they rode the Walter White character arc out to the bitter end without caving and giving him (or his family) a soft landing. ;-)

I’m sure Jesse’s escape at the end was a hook created by the writers and producers to keep a storyline open for the possibility of further work. They would be crazy not to after a success like that.

Wasn’t it Badger and Skinny Pete who were shining the lasers at the benefactor couple? They had diminished to such minor characters at that point that a close out wasn’t really warranted. At least in my mind.

Jesse's escape led to the movie El Camino.  That was a really good movie.
Well, I guess I should have mentioned that I just finished Season 2.

To avoid any spoiler alerts, I'll be back to read the rest of this thread in a week or so.   Big Grin
Anyone else give up on HBO's "Succession" because all the characters are so vile and reprehensible that you can't find a protagonist to get behind?

Yo yo yo. 148-3 to the 3 to the 6 to the 9, representing the ABQ, what up, biatch?!
Beef was good on Netflix. Started getting into Florida Man. It's okay so far with just two episodes in. A little too sporadic for my liking. My wife started watching Obsessed or Obsession on Netflix. Man, talk about [BLEEP] up, that show wasted little time showing you it's plot and plot twist. A little heartbreaking at the moment.
I watched the first two episodes of the Netflix documentary about the 2015 earthquake that hit Katmandu and caused avalanches on Everest and surrounding villages in the general area. They showed footage from people who recorded the chaos on their cellphone and street cameras in Katmandu.

Man, that was some treacherous stuff right there. I can't even imagine. People running away from a building in the city only for it to fall over on them and crush them. One of the villages was 100% wiped out. People on the side of Everest buried in snow and half of base camp ripped to shreds.

Dang.

I gave up in season 1, lol but am being encouraged by friends to keep watching. Maybe I'll give it another go.

Well, finally finished the Breaking Bad series last night. Everyone's comments certainly make more sense now. Gonna let it marinate a bit before watching El Camino.

My only complaint with the series is that Mike or Uncle Jack didn't take a crowbar to the head of Marie. Or at least separate her from her tongue. Kudos to the actor for 100% nailing possibly the most annoying TV character ever.
We're watching Yellowjackets on Showtime..

Yikes!! Them girls turned feral pretty quick lol
For any of you who watch Drive to Survive I present you the 2022 Tour de France. Netflix did a docuseries of it with eight of last year's TdF teams. They'll do as in DTS and show a lot of behind the scenes stuff and some of the stage racing. Having watched a lot of the teams' own youtube channels and their BTS stuff I can say the docuseries should be pretty accurate but definitely with hyped drama as only Netflix can do. Lol. The only bummer is UAE Team Emirates didn't agree to be followed and interviewed and they were the team to beat. Seeing how the race unfolded in the battle between UAE and Jumbo-Visma it would have been great to see UAE behind the scenes deciding on strategy and tactics.

For a different look at one of the teams, Jumbo-Visma, here is their own documentary from their 2021 TdF. They're a bit more restrained being as they're Dutch but it's an interesting look inside a World Tour team.

Anyone ever watch Flea Market Flip on The Destination America channel?

What a cool show.. It's like a game show. These 2 couples are given a set amount of money to spend on 3 items at a flea market. These couples then take these items and renovate them in different styles. When they're done renovating or restoring, they take those items back to the flea market and put them all up for sale. The team that makes the most profit, wins.. Cool concept.

Makes me wanna go to a flea market and buy some [BLEEP]..

I remember that one. Lara Spencer is the host, if I'm recalling correctly. They do end up making some interesting stuff out of junk.

Catching up on a whole lot of old series on Netflix here recently. This week, it's the Last Kingdom. It's supposed to be like Game of Thrones, but loosely based on historical accounts. Just finished season 2, and it's pretty good so far.

El Camino was just ‘ok’ for me, but you should watch it.  If you haven’t watched Better Call Saul, that’s where you should head next.
Started watching Silo on Apple TV mostly because I've read the book series. Looks like it could be pretty good. They definitely have good actors and production values. The first couple of episodes have stayed pretty close (but not exactly) to the books.
