@ gus starting Brewster, Im ok with this. Lets see if this guy gets it and improves. Give him that opportunity. Its not like we got a hotrod awaiting behind him. Just keep Bortles away from him for now.

@Caldwell talking about Cyp being a cornerstone. Lets have him prove it first before we give any recognition to this kid. He hasn't earned our good graces yet.

On the contrary.....that quote scares the hell outta me.

Was Caldwell tappin some of grandpa's cough medicine??.....

More like Caldwell petitioning to the football gods. Cyp is a hyped 2nd rounder, It'd suck to have him be "just a guy" like he is forcasting at the moment. Praying he gets some gus juice like Branch and levels up.

or... Perhaps you're doing that knee jerk thing you do and rushing to judgement? He's not a bad player and played well as a rookie. I fully expect him to be even better and be a jag for sometime. I think you're in the minority in your Cyp opinion.

That's his MO, being in the minority. Remember when "dissenting opinion" was his shiny new catch phrase that beat into the ground for a season or so.

It was painfully evident then, as it is now, that cooking up "dissenting opinions" is his favorite route to all of the attention he so desperately requires.

Like sad, embarrassing desperation.
I like Cyp and have since he was drafted.  I believe he is improving and will be our SS of the future.  I thought that Josh Evans was going to be our FS of the future because im a Gator homer sometimes, but scratch that.  I'm curious as to who will be available next year (draft or FA) at the FS spot to lock down the other side of the field.

I really like Winston Guy.

Says the clown Matt Barkley fan.

for a 4th rounder I'd select him or a prospect like that every year.

and as for cLoWn.....pot. kettle. black.

I dont know why people bash Barkley, if he didn't play behind Vick and Foles who knows what he could be. Probably the back up now that Vick is a Jet. Anyway, Cyprien is a strong player in our locker room and field, I think he has PB potential but I'm a biased. I think Winston Guy is someone who will turn heads this year and allow us to ignore the FS position in the '15 draft.

Drama queen.

Vick left and Barkley is still 3rd-string.  Reports are saying his arm is just not good enough and that he isn't doing well in camp.  Props to our front office for not drafting him.

"Mark Sanchez is currently the No. 2 quarterback, and he seems close to entrenched in that role with the way he’s played during the summer. He’s ahead of Matt Barkley and G.J. Kinne, and the coaching staff has been impressed with the way Sanchez has adapted to the Eagles and picked up the offense."

Barkley isn't even getting all the third team reps. They're giving some of them to GJ Kinne.

Not to derail the thread here but the idea of Barkley becoming a franchise QB is a joke. TMD is a joke. Everything he says is really just in hopes that once, JUST ONCE, he flings some poop, people bash him for 5 pages, then magically this one thing will actually be right and the other 1 million things he foolishly promoted won't matter. In that moment, the king of the frylator will be looking down on all of us foolish peasants with a clairvoyant glare in his eye saying "I told you so." Then for the next 5 years we will hear about how TMD was right. Who cares if it's only 1 out of 100 times. 1% isn't bad when you spend your life on the wrong side of a barstool.

Cyp is already a good player and will ultimately be exactly what Caldwell wants. There are a few fans that seem to be mad that he's not Ronnie Lott. No worries, he'll be everything Double D was and maybe better in coverage.

Cyprien was the first defensive player drafted by Caldwell/Bradley. The team was on the clock for 20 hours when they drafted him. He started slow but was one of the most improved players in the league the second half of last season. Everybody sees it. People within the organization, local media, national media. They see Cyprien as a cornerstone for the defense.

I suppose everybody could be wrong but I doubt it.
I'll take Caldwell's word for it. He hasn't given any reason to doubt his moves yet.

He was what we need all along. For years our quarterbacks have made throws that only a 6'6 WR could possibly make.

I wonder if there will be video of it?
