I'll tolerate him because I have to. As of right now, I think Bortles should be day 1 starter. Unless he totally stinks it up against the Lions, I will continue to be of that opinion. He has not given me any indication that he can't handle it.
He's not going to play perfectly and I wouldn't expect a rookie to. So what, he'll be fine.

I'm fine with most of how they've handled Bortles so far. Its just that "3 snaps" seems laughable to me. I don't see how it is enough to benefit anyone.
Now, since that point they've increased the total, so I guess its moot, anyway.

If your intention is to continue with the plan that he won't be starting any time soon, why does it matter how many reps he's getting with the first team right now? And that was only in one practice. Did we get reports on what happened in subsequent practices to determine if the number of reps increased with the first team?

Probably because its insulting to bortles. It was just a waste of time to be honest. If you are going to start the kid this weekend, Let em' have his 1's snaps. Henne can get all of his in the regular season where he'll be a glorified test dummy while our Oline jells

"3 snaps" just seemed almost comically low to me for a whole practice, but whatever.

Bortles must be beside himself for such a slight by the team.
I will naturally defer to Bradley, et al in the distribution of practice snaps with the ones between Henne and Bortles, but the 3 snaps seem odd to me. Yes I know that was increased in subsequent practices, but at face value, without knowing the reason, that seems odd to have such a low number of snaps assigned to Bortles.
For those of you who might slam me for finding that odd, suppose you went to one of the training camp practices and they had a total of 3 snaps before ending practice.
You can't tell me you wouldn't be annoyed or otherwise puzzled at the low number of snaps.

None of us know what the situation was during that practice. What we do know is he got progressively more snaps as the week went on, so again, what is the big deal?
