Quote:.....Keep telling youself that as the Colts and Texans both had out of nowhere worst records in the NFL the year when a great QB just happened to be available and they both happened to need one.

The order to tank comes from the Owner who sees the "bigger picture" and knows what adding Luck and Bridgewater will do for both those teams.

In the Houston case, I don't think they set out to tank from the onset, like the Colts did, but by midseason, there was no doubt the Texans at that point knew what their mission was. Bridgewater.

You keep bloviating this junk, without the first piece of evidence.

Anyone can make up stuff, and you spend hours doing so.

And you wonder why you have no credibility.
I say we trade back and take Aj Mccarron
Quote:Well, because they have to at least try to give the perception that they are trying to win, at the very least so they can convince the gullible sect of NFL fan that they are not tanking. They probably figured Schaub would get close but not enough to pull it out, which is pretty much what happened. McNair must have been nervous though in those last seconds. Probably radioed down to Schaub before that last INT that a $50,000 Christmas "bonus" was his if he threw one away, which judging by the zero Texans in the area, he clearly did.

I actually like some of your posts sometimes and get where your coming from, but this.... this is just unbelievable
Quote:I say we trade back and take A.J. McCarron.

Why trade down for a guy who probably will still be available at #39?
Quote:I've been right a heckuva lot more than I've been wrong.

Thats why people like you and others get so giddy and repeat stuff that I do get wrong like Dan Lefevour, because it doesn't happen too often so you need to cash in your chips while you can.

You think we get giddy every time you are wrong? Yeah....no. You are wrong a lot. We get giddy when you are so wrong about something (like Dan LeFevour, Cecil Shorts, Kirk Cousins, etc.) that even you can't spin your way out of it.
Quote: He is the best QB prospect since Luck.

So, in the last 2 years. That is certainly true. If you're talking about draft eligible QB prospects anyway. If you are talking about in all of college football, then it's Winston.
Quote:When is the last time I started a thread saying I told you so, or had that theme?

Yeah, I'm calling you out on it.

I mean, you literally opened up with:

"I remember actually arguing with a few people in the trade Cecil thread who were saying that Cecil was better than Blackmon, and they were actually being indignant about it, rofl..."

I'd say that is an "I told you so" thread.
Quote:I meant if Mariota changes his mind, the Texans will pick him, so Bridgewater will be available.

Again, you're so sure what these other teams will do. Amazing insight. You must be Mel Kiper trolling the boards.
Quote:I don't think the Texans set out to do that from game 1 (Like the Colts (Irsay) did in 2011), but once the Texans season was already in the crapper (by around mid-season or so) I think they (or McNair specifically) decided to at that point Tank for Teddy.

You know what? OK. I'll do it; why not?

If the Texans select number one and take Bridgewater, I won't post for a week (or however long you wish to make it).

Likewise, if the Texans select number one and don't take Bridgewater, you agree to not post for a week (or however long you wish to make it).

Since you're adamant the Texans tanked for Bridgewater, you shouldn't have an issue here, right? Do we have a deal?

What if we draft someone from Wisconsin? You know it won't be the first round! And you won't be able to post for a week. Don't do it Carly! You don't even post that much anymore...

I'm a sportsman, I'll do it......on one condition, its not immediately after the draft. I need to get my fix of meltdown after the draft.

Although I was hoping my side of the winnings would have been something better than you not posting.....you not posting probably makes people disappointed, lol

It's always doom and gloom...

Let the professionals, like Dave Caldwell, do their job please.

So, so pitiful.

I'm sure we can all do without you fabricating reasons that all the draft picks suck only to back down from your initial bash-fest a few days later. I think that's the perfect week for you to disappear.

Haha, I'm open to suggestions from you. And that's fine, it doesn't have to be post draft. I'm impressed you took the bet at all.

Man that is pathetic

Add Jason Taylor (he wanted to trade a 3rd rounder for him, when JT was already washed up) and the bed wetting for not spending a draft pick on Matt Barkley from USC. He's barely on a roster.

TMD is wrong a LOT.

Please make it post draft.

We don't need to hear him cry for a week.

-Cyprien doesn't have a football name, he will suck.

-Sanders is too small, he will be injury prone

-Jaguars should have taken Matt Barkley
I am really hoping that Jacksonville gets a franchise QB.  I wanted you guys to get Bridgewater, but that looks unlinkey now with Houston drafting 1st overall.  I say you guys because my team is actually Carolina.  Now that we have gotten our franchise QB and built one of the best defenses in the league we are back in the playoffs.  It took 3 seasons with Cam (1st pick), Kuechly (10th) and Star Lotulelei (14th) to turn this around.  I would say Gabbert has been your Jimmy Clausen.  I told one of my friends who is a big Jag supporter that with your new coach and Gm who I love, that I see the Jags back in the playoffs in about 2-3 years, especially if you guys get a franchise QB.  I love the effort that this team had and how they seem to play hard for the coach.  If you guys just fill a few holes, you will be back on top in the AFC South.  I truly believe it.  Good luck and I look forward to discussing football with you guys.

One possibility might be Blake Bortles.  He is playing right now in the Fiesta Bowl.  What do you guys think of trading down a few picks if possible and drafting this kid?

By the way, do you guys have a android app for this site?  The carolina huddle does and I use it all the time.  I would like to get an app so I can talk about my favorite AFC team.
