Quote:The Texans are hiring Billy O'Brien, and right after it was announced he would be the Coach, Bridgewater declared for the NFL draft. Coincidence? No, Teddy is going number one. He is going to a good organization and honestly I think he will have a chance to really succeed. He has a team with a decent o line, tightends, Arian Foster, decent WR core, and Johnson who is aging but still good. He won't have nearly the pressure on him as he would in Jacksonville.

I know fans here are scared of drafting QBs so go ahead and make the bet, but you're going to lose, Teddy is going to be the first pick.

Yeah, they're loaded with talent.  So much talent they couldn't pull out one win in 14 games, two of them against us.  I'll worry about Houston about as much as I worry about getting AIDS.
Ever since the Roid bust of Cushing, it seems like the Texans got de-enhanced.

You're insane if you think that roster doesn't have talent. Remeber the Chiefs went 2-14 last year and then won 11 games this year. Did they somehow aquire an entirely new roster? Didn't think so.

Chiefs: New coach and new QB. Guess what Houston will get? New coach and new QB.

So i guess you should be worried about getting AIDS.

You probably expressed similar sentiment 2 years ago at this very moment about the Colts.

Ooops.

If Bortles doesn't declare and Bridgewater goes #1, it has to be Mack or Clowney.  It's still early though, so that could definitely change.

WTH??? Really? People can say what they want about the qb play in Houston this year, but when you lose one of the top 5 backs in the league for the year its over!

With a healthy Foster, this team is back on top, even with Schaub!

If I were you, id wear protection, and dont share needles!

As for actual play i said he reminded me of a Darius clone. Ooops, thats exactly what he's evolving into.

How many of your posts lately have focus on me personally?

This Darius stuff is stupid.  Like the rest of your reactionary drivel lately.   Darius didn't see the field as a rookie - and didn't start until his fourth year in the NFL.

Cyprien's play (and improvement)  as a rookie starter easily aims his career arc and potential higher than Darius.  You're just clinging to your idiotic criticism of the pick back in April.

Donovin had 4 1/2 productive seasons for the Jags.  I think Cyprien will double that and end with much better numbers.
What happens if Houston selects Manziel 1st overall?

Do we trade up with StL to secure Teddy or stand pat and risk missing out?

I'd be happy either way.  You stand pat, you get either Bridgewater or Clowney, so that's pretty nice.

Sanders has missed time in minicamp, camp, and reg season to injury. Check.

Lobbied for the Jags to take Barkley in the FOURTH rd. Big whoop.

You're destroying your own credibility with this board when you try to justify your prediction of Ace Sanders being injury prone by pointing out that he missed minicamp and one regular season game.

I hate to mess up someone's agenda with pesky little facts, but Darius started 14 games his rookie year and all 16 games in his 2nd and 3rd season.
I would trade three future first rounders for Teddy before touching Manziel in the first round. And maybe a few more picks thrown in.

Why?  If he's a taller, more athletic, just as accurate Russell Wilson, wouldn't that be worth a 1st rounder?

I'm no scout, I'm not saying Manziel is all those things (other than taller, which he is by 2 inches), I'm just saying...  If he's got that type of ability, isn't that worth the 3rd overall pick?

(Emphasis added)

This is false.

He started in his rookie year in 1998.  In fact, he put a hit on then Jets' TE Kyle Brady in the playoffs that year that was one of the hardest I've ever seen watching football.

Hmm.. A good position I guess.

Clowney or Bridgewater would be nice. Bortles could be good, but he seems too risky at #3. Same goes for Manziel, though Manziel would definitely be fun to follow.

If both Clowney and Bridgewater were gone at #3, I would be disappointed. At that point, I think they'd go with Barr. Diamond in the rough QB's can still be found in the 2nd-7th rounds anyway.

Keep pushing that agenda.

That statement holds such precious irony.
It's a no brainer, johnny manziel all the way. we need something to be excited about. The jags have been a joke for too long it's time to get serious about our team. Johnny football has leadership, hasn't anyone seen the chickfila bowl. hello!!!

Ooops.

Does Bridgewater rank anywhere near Luck?

I have a feeling fewer quarterbacks will be taken in the first round this year than what is generally believed on this board.  That's not to say we won't take one at 3, but I have a feeling at least one of the candidates that people are clamoring for at 3 will be there at 39 or perhaps we trade up a few spots in the 2nd round or back in to the bottom part of the 1st and a guy that people are clamoring for will be there for us if we go something other than QB at 3.  Just my feeling at the moment.  I've been known to be wrong though.

I don't know if I remember a time when the Jags ever traded down in the draft.  Perhaps we'll see that this year?

This past seasons trade down in the Fourth that dang near caused an apoplectic episode amongst certain members of the fanbase doesn't count?
