Here is a quick video of Irma at the famous Mako beach at Sint Maarten:

That's actually surveillance video of my street after a day of drinking Yuengling. It tends to make me a little gassy.
You gotta appreciate the resilience of palm trees. They are a pain to maintain, but man, can they handle a storm?

Pinellas County mandatory evacuation start tomorrow morning
Dumb question. What happens to the people down south who evacuate, get stuck in gridlock traffic and run out of gas then can't fill up because stations are empty? Sounds like a nightmare.

I would imagine the main highways will be steadily supplied with fuel especially now that they're being escorted in. Also, they're got two and a half days to make it North. They should be fine.

At 1:15 mark is what will happen to people stranded with no gas on the highway.

Gas stations along major evacuation routes are the first priority for tankers. They'll be getting fuel right up to the point where it's unsafe to refill them.
The Speedway on Ramona was out of all fuel last night.
Looks like it may not be to bad for northern Florida at this point.
The newest Euro model has a significant Westward shift. And it's worth noting, the Euro model is far and away the most accurate hurricane predicting model. Dark blue line.

LOL There you go, the type of joke everyone should be telling me.

I would also recommend keeping an eye out for updates from JDub's neighbor's cat.

I don't take the interstate when I go that way.   I take US 1.   It's 4 lanes, and usually deserted.

Don't spoil it for the locals!

No it's not. They can drive north to the Panhandle.

That whooshing sound you're hearing isn't from Irma.
