It's our penance for avoiding most of them.
Probably true!
Transformers are starting to blow in Tampa and a friend in Hernando County posted that their Lanai just ripped off their pool foundation and they're just getting the outer bands right now.
I'm on the Neighborhood app and a couple transformers have blown here in jax today too.
Who else has sinfully noshed all day while sitting out the storm?

I don't know what you're talking about...

The center of the storm is right over the county just to the east of me. Kicking up pretty good here. Lost commercial power but the generator is humming along just fine.

I'm snacking on some beef jerky now. Store bought stuff. I need to start making my own again.

Hahahahaha. That's awesome.
Well, as of about 4:00 I'm officially screwed. Water started coming in the back doors.
All things considered, FL seemed to hold up well. The wind shear to go the West coast was a bit of a saving grace. Rico, I hope all is well and the water recedes quickly and doesn't do much damage. I'm seeing Jax is under a flash flood emergency right now. Even here in VA we are supposed to get 40mph winds tonight
I woke up around 3:00 to no power and the wind howling outside. Still no power and never got back to sleep.
Rico, would French drains help to mitigate the water from collecting in your yard?
Ft. Myers damage seems to be minimal. Had a firefighter buddy check on my house and the only damage was my fence door launch busted. Hope everyone one else made out good.
Looks like we are just about in the clear here in Jax and I think there is actually some sunshine headed our way later today. Managed to get by without even losing power.
I just had a fried spam, egg, and cheese sandwich cooked on a camp stove in the garage. It was yummy.

Camp stoves are the best! Mine comes in handy when we lose power due to ice storms. I set it on my stove and crack open a window and heat up water for coffee and cook my food.
Lost a lot of fence panels facing east/west
Dang, just saw coverage from CBS This Morning on youtube showing the St John's River overflowing the banks and lots of flooding out at Atlantic Beach. It was filmed just before daybreak. Crazy pants. They said it's the worst flooding Jacksonville has seen since Dora in 1964.

Do you have flood insurance? I hope so!
I hope we can get these repairs reimbursed
Wow, Jacksonville looking terrible. My prayers go out to all of you.

LOL I wish that was true! The second power outage did not bother me because it was almost bedtime anyway (around 11:00 p.m.) so I just needed a flashlight for 10 minutes. But it really sucked to miss out on some great plays in our game including a defensive touchdown.
