A friend in Tampa posted a Wawa charging $8.81 a gallon and water for $24.
Both of which are price gouging which is illegal.
Here in SW VA gas is up to like $2.50 since Harvey, was $1.95ish a couple weeks ago. Work pays for my gas so I rarely look at the price these days lol

It appears Sint Maarten took a direct hit.

Some forecast models are now showing Irma will miss Cuba and swing north before it gets to Florida. We may dodge a bullet on this one. It doesn't look good for the Carolinas, though.

"Some forecast models" tells me nobody really knows where Irma will go. So far I have seen no reason for people in the Carolinas to worry too much because the storm is headed for the Gulf.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

This is video from inside Irma's eyewall. About 25 seconds in is when you begin to see the power of this thing. Right around the one minute mark is where I'm wondering how the heck they're still flying that plane. The pilots and crew have been in my prayers. That is certainly a high risk job they have.
And yeah, that thing needs to stay away from NC. Matthew was bad enough and it was only a Cat 3. We were approximately 200 miles from the eyewall when we started getting hammered and it didn't help we were on the business end of the rotation. We were already waterlogged from the tropical storm that had through a week or so before which didn't help matters at all. We've not had much rain this summer until recently, but the rivers and creeks here will flood like they did last year and create some serious problems. Not looking forward to what may be coming.
I really wish my husband would agree to buying a generator.
It would be helpful for more than hurricane season since we lose power due to snow and ice storms.
You might want to check yourself because that is not accurate, at all.

Nice work. First state nobody knows where Irma is going, then declare where Irma is going. Nobody but you, then?

I feel like I'd be far enough inland if it hits around NC/SC (I'm roughly 250 miles from Myrtle Beach or Jacksonville NC) but the storm itself is 400 [BLEEP] miles wide. The ONLY good thing that could come of that is I work sales in the building supply industry and we'd be crazy busy.
Still a lot of uncertainty where Irma is headed. But it's very likely to hit the US somewhere now.
We have a small little generator, nothing crazy, but enough to power a fridge/deep freezer for a while.

Plus she says that it is headed towards a place that NO ONE is predicting.

Irma will be bad for anyone who gets hit by her.
Right about now... I'm guessing right up the gut of Florida. Keys, Miami, Tampa... hammered on Saturday...
J-Ville will get some serious action into Sunday...
GA and SC will get what is left of her on Sunday evening Monday morning...
By Tuesday she'll be a Tropical Storm breaking up in the mountains...
I can be a Meteorologist too.
BTW... the fact that gas prices are rising due to Harvey is bogus.
And someone said something about dropping ice cubes in the storm... that would be the opposite of what the government would want to do.
Natural disasters creates a need for government... creates a surplus of need (and panic) and drives up the economy.
If anything they are going out there and seeding this bad mamma jamma.

It's going to the Gulf to hit Denver then up to Green Bay.

Here I was thinking about going to North Carolina to ride out the storm, and now it appears I might be better off staying in Jacksonville.

His timeline is way off. He has it impacting Tampa on Saturday, but it will just be approaching Florida on Sunday morning.

Looks like it will be just offshore like Hurricane Matthew only 10 times stronger storm surge and wind.
