As a Jaguars fan I am unique in that I live in the Nashville area as opposed to Jacksonville. But wishing you all the best with prayers and support down there!
Latest update has the projected path a little more westward than previously shown.
New model has it making landfall in the Miami area and staying on land and coming right over Jacksonville instead of going back out into the Atlantic and moving along the coast. I'm not sure whether to ride this thing out or not. I'm not in a storm surge area and I know it will be weakened by travelling over land, but the eyewall will now pass over Jacksonville according to NOAA's projection at the time of this writing. Hmm...

In my completely unprofessional opinion, you're less screwed with a cat 1-2 on land than you are a cat 4 right offshore.
Still, if you were planning on evacuating, don't change that plan now. If you weren't, but the thought of a hurricane rolling across your front porch has you second-guessing that, listen to your gut.
I guess the good news is that the rain totals seems relatively small for the size of the storm. Barring an unexpected stall

Any chance they cancel the Jaguars game so the player's can "be with their families"? Or is that only the sham of a reason they gave for moving the Miami game so they wouldn't lose money?

Courtesy of an upper-level low pressure center that's developed over the Carribbean Sea. It hadn't been there in previous models, and it's having the effect of pulling Irma a little farther to the west before the system currently over the Rockies pulls it back north. I'm much more concerned for the Big Bend and Panhandle now than I was eight hours ago.

Actually, they moved the Miami game because playing football in an outdoor stadium during a category 4 hurricane is hazardous to your health.

Dude, what part of "playing football outside during a category 4 hurricane" is not clicking for you? Last time I checked, the category 4 hurricane has long since left Houston. The category 4 hurricane in Miami will be coming onshore right around the time the game is scheduled to be played. It's not a "be with your family" thing. It's a "don't get impaled by a 2x4 breaking the speed of sound" thing. I'm just not sure why you're saying there's a sham to avoid losing money in play here.

If it were me playing my family would be in TX watching the game or somewhere there is not a hurricane churning up the coast. But that's just me.

Okay, allow me to explain my reasoning for questioning the decision to play the Houston / Jacksonville game. First, I understand that Houston is out of the clear for Hurricane Harvey, and my reasons have nothing to do with the location.
In Roger Goodell's recent press conference regarding his reasoning behind rescheduling the Miami/TB game, he sited:

Now I understand I initially paraphrased the quote, but one of the points (not the only point) Goodell was making is that he wanted the community, including players and coaches, focused on preparing for the storm with their families. Jacksonville will be hit a mere 24 hours after Miami. I understand the player safety isn't a concern since the game will be played in Houston, not Jacksonville, but the other point Goodell was attempting to make still applies to Jacksonville.
