It's right there for all to see lol.
Regardless, I think it's just as simple as the old saying 'if it's too good to be true, it probably is'.
Again, maybe he turns it around - I sincerely hope he does.
But this wasn't an exclusive deal to the Jags.
The Bills have been trying to trade him rather than just cut him since he got sent home.
Anyone could have had him for a bag of football's.
We are lucky we didn't have to pay someone picks to take him.
Like I mentioned obviously saint Doug was ok with this or it doesn't get made but when he left BUF, Dareus was the 1st one blasting him in the media for all the bridges he burned here etc.
Again, I don't mean to be all doom and gloom.
Getting a new weapon is fun.
I just hope he turns into that weapon. The jags must have seen something none of the other teams did bc anyone actually WILLING to give anything could have had him.
Seems TC helped get this team in trouble in 1999 with $$. Hopefully this won't hurt if he remains who he's been for 3+ years.
It was a TERRIBLE contract that never should have been given out.
Buffalo just had a complex about keeping their own at that time and he made it clear he wasn't signing for anything less bc he's selfish. Another reason a restructure shouldn't just be assumed
It’s okay you guys got taken. Y’all traded an all pro tackle for a 6th rounder. Y’all are paying his ten million in guaranteed money this year and 14 million in guaranteed money next year against your cap. We pay 2 million this year and 10 next year with no guaranteed money after 2018 lol. It’s okay you don’t have to justify to us. We are on pace to break the sack record with out him. We don’t need him to be a weapon. If he is just a starter that is a win. After this move we have 30 million in roll over cap not space not including the cap increasing. We legit may have 40 million before any cuts being made. You may just be in denial and that’s okay.
I can agree with you that you guys would rather get something for nothing but y’all are still footing the bill. Why not just keep him or get more? Why did y’all change the defense after paying him? Sounds more like poor management and coaching on the bills.
Lol, I'm not sure what else I can say or how else I can word it.
Dude has turned into a cancer. If they could have paid him to stay home they would have. He wasn't even a starter. The Bills get refunded his base this year and saves them almost 5 mill this year and 2 next year. Is why they got lucky that they were willing to make a trade and actually get SOMETHING rather than have to GIVE something for him to be taken on.
Like I said, all dude had to do was fit in and not cause distractions.
All these phrases about culture and plan are the exact same buzz words being used in Buffalo with their new regime.
If he was at all helpful to them, they never would have traded him.
He wore out his welcome and missed the boat.
On the surface it's obviously a pretty lopsided deal
A pro bowl DT for peanuts.
Teams just don't trade away superstars for 6th rd picks.
I'm not trying to rain on any parades, I'm just trying to provide depth and background.
As I asked another poster who mentioned hopefully he falls into line.
Hopefully he does and this is what he needed to get back on track.
But what if he doesn't? Then you guys are in the same spot the Bills were in. He became a distraction and a cancer. A me guy on a team full of we guys. Only reason his name has been called this year was for letdown and mistakes. He almost cost them the Tampa game with a bone head play.
That said, Marone suspended him 2x so he knows what he's getting. Hopefully he has a solution.
Hes been out of shape, oft injured and unmotivated and had faded into a backup role.
Maybe he figures it out. I really liked the guy.
I'd just see if he can turn it around before you start figuring out who to cut to keep him.
Jags did the Bills a favor that they were ok with.
I hope he's good and it becomes mutually beneficial
