Not to mention he is a giant liability in the run game.

Not giant, but he is a liability in the run game

Yeah, at times, people in here just love to ignore that, they just cling to anything that looks remotely good and start thinking those players are great, pretty funny.

Hahahaha “Giant” liability.

Clueless as usual.

Liability is really because Wash doesn't know what he is doing. He puts him so far wide that he cannot help on the run game and gets caught collapsing too far down the line of scrimmage leaving the outside open. If he doesn't do that he has no chance to get any sacks.

We haven’t had as consistent a pass-rusher since Brackens. I don’t think he’s easily replaceable at all.

LOL, easily replaceable...

How quickly people forget that this franchise went YEARS just dreaming about having a guy who could lead the team in sacks with only 7 or 8 throughout 16 games... Yet now all of a sudden Yan is replaceable LOL. The best young pass rusher this franchise has ever had is easily replaceable LOLOLOL.

And people wonder why this franchise is the worst run franchise in all of sports.
Yan is anything but replaceable. I seriously question how much some of you guys follow the NFL as a whole with statements like that, because it's not based in any sort of league wide reality

The same dudes who are saying we shouldn't pay Yan, or that hes replaceable will be the same dudes complaining when hes lighting it up for another team. As well as complaining about how Allen isn't as productive as he was this rookie season, because he'll have to do everything by himself.

Having Yan and Allen play together for at least the next 4 years is a dream scenario and I simply don't understand how anybody doesn't want to see that happen.

Exactly. After seeing how Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney spent years together teeing off on our team and the NFL you would think common sense would win out here.

But, Nope! Let's go back to those days where it was just Tony Brackens and Renaldo Wynn trying to keep up on his end.

I definitely want Yan here but there is always a limit too a player. People here would make Yan the highest paid defender in league history. A few wanted to give Ramsey 20 mil a year, now that is comical

Hopefully our new GM can work out a reasonable deal for both sides while Yan is on the tag.
Ngakoue's deal will be peanuts in 3 years. My arguments are this. You can't break the bank for less. And that's exactly what they've done.

Linder was made the highest paid Center in NFL history at the time of his extension. Bortles and Foles were thrown so much money at them that a Las Vegas stripper blushes in envy.

Norwell was made the highest paid guard just two years ago or he's at least one of the top paid guards at the moment.

Jack was paid handsomely to play out of position this year and he's been a tremendous let down. Clearly can't man the Mike. Needs to be sent back to Sam.

They also extended guys like Marqise Lee. The Albino Tiger. Telvin Smith. Who went off the deep end.

Meanwhile? Ngakoue's been showing up. Doing his job. Making the best of his situation. Working day in and day out.

But. Let's let him walk.

Yans behavior on social media is irksome. If dude isn't going to give a new front office the chance to make things good, then screw him. Just another Jalen type guy.

LOL at the dumb moves Caldwell has made.  Keeping Lee over Robinson, bringing in Norwell and not adjusting the blocking scheme to adjust to his strengths, giving Foles a larger than market value contract to make sure everyone knew it was "his" team - then watching him lose every game he started.

This team is cursed.  But watch Caldwell and Marrone be retained and 2020 be another wasted year with 10 plus losses....

BTW Smoot has 5 sacks in like a 3rd of Ngakoue's playing time (8).
And again, Ngakoue best games have been vs backups or the worse teams.

Dude is good but the team shouldn't pay him more than 16 millions per year.

Yan decided to play and risk injury helping the team when they didn't give him any deal. He played injured to start the season off even.

Not comparable in the slightest to Jalen

Agree. He is trying to leverage Social Media to increase his perceived value. I can't see any team giving him the money he thinks he is worth, but you never know.

You do remember that he had to play or he didn't get a year counted for service? He was never going to hold out.

He only had to play enough games to be eligible. He didn't have to play with his injury either.

He had to show up to camp when he showed up. He also had to play to get a huge deal. Using an injury to sit out games may have gotten him fined and definitely takes off millions or years on his deal.

No he didn't have to play all of the games to get a big deal. And no Yan sitting out for an injury he could barely run on would not have gotten him legally fined nor would it take many millions off the deal.

That is not how these situations operate
