Still doing nothing huh?
What exactly did he do? catch a super easy ball and run lol, that was pretty much a gift by Dalton.
Meanwhile Fowler had 3 sacks, Yan had 0.
Dude doesn't deserve a big contract, you want him to put pressure on the QB and get sacks, he is doing neither.

Edit: oh never mind I see you downplayed it by calling it easy so it would fit your narrative. Got it..

Yannick sucks this year so far. Don't really care what anyone has to say to that.

well fowler isnt the main pass rusher donald is, donald gets double team fowler free to rush passer againt single blocker
mean while our team yan is the best pass rusher and is double teamed allen is the one free to rush passer against single blocker

I'm one of Yan's biggest defenders around here, but that pick 6 wasn't all that much to write home about. The Bengals were in pure catch up mode and were telegraphing everything, even Yan said everyone knew the screen was coming.

Sure... sure...
Yan gets double teamed on every play haha

Josh Allen > Yan

Let me say this, I love Yan. For the right price, I'd love to see him, Allen, and heck even Bryan stay around and be the next guys up when Jones/Dareus/Campbell retire or are released. That is the future on our line, draft 1 more DT and you have a line set up for 7-9 years here.
All that said, in a contract year, Yannick has not done enough in my eyes, to warrant a top dollar DE contract. Yet.

I shudder to say this, but I agree. That play was nothing special. All he did was catch a ball thrown right to him. There wasn't even an eligible receiver in the area.

Then you won't mind if I say you haven't been paying enough attention the past two weeks.
He looks like he's much healthier after dealing with the injury and he's rapidly getting back to his former self.
He's made ~ 6 or 7 good plays lately, 3 of them against the run which is a nice development for him.
He'll be fine.

No, no you’re looking at this rationally; he’s obviously a bad player now and we should panic

Who exactly said that? he just doesn't deserve a giant contract. 10-12 million per year instead of the 20+ he thinks he deserves because he believes he is the best pass rusher in the nfl lol.

Let's just say he finishes - theoretically - the season with somewhere around 6-9 or so sacks, a few dozen QB hurries, and so and so many tackles - let's just say he doesn't perform greatly, but not terribly either. What's the plan? Let him go, because he wants long term security?
What happens with the roster then? You've got Allen, which is great. You've got Taven, who's developing, but who knows what his ceiling is at this point. You've got Campbell and a few other older aging Dline guys. Who knows how much time they really have left? Their bodies could betray them starting next year, for all we know. You let Ngakoue go, you suddenly have a hole on the pass rushing front that Allen may kind of fill - but you can guarantee then Allen's getting double teamed on his own from that point on.
What happens then with the draft? You got holes ALL over the offense, particularly at the Oline, and possibly a need to beef up the D secondary. You have to consider getting more playmakers for the offense to help out Foles or Minshew, whoever's starting from that point on. And on top of that, you want to add the possibility of needing another pass rusher to the list?
Letting him walk over money would be a bad idea. This team needs to find GOOD guys who are clear headed and have leadership qualities to build around. Not let them go because of money issues. It sucks he turned down his last contract; hopefully he won't make that mistake again when Caldwell approaches him at the end of the season with another offer. This team needs to keep what talent it has and NOT let it bleed off. Is he streaky? Sure. But how many other pass rushers have come out after being drafted by this team and have balled the way this guy has balled? Do you REALLY wanna say that's not worth the risk in signing?
I'm not saying they should throw money at him. But they definitely need to find a way to keep him. They can't afford to keep losing blue chip players season to season

Let's see what we've done with our talent.
Made Linder the highest paid OC ever... Horrible decision
Give Lee a "big" contract dude has done nothing
Give Jack a giant contract when he is only been good, not great - So far doesn't look like a great decision
Give a good contract to Telvin and what happened?
Extended Bortles when he didn't deserve it
You guys want to make the same mistake with Yan. Guys has 2 sacks in 6 games! you don't overpay him, you offer him what he deserves, he doesn't want it? he can leave.

Why are we complaining about Yannick?
He’s one of the good guys or at least I thought he was?

His production has dipped and the overall pass rush has been meh
Its time for Yan to impose his will like the elite pass rushers around the league. He wants to be paid like one, time to play like one.
I fully expect him to finish the season strong.

Remember the gift wrapped pick 6 that hit Ramsey right in the hands against Houston in which he proceeded to drop? I do.

He’s still getting pressures. Sacks are only part of the equation. Let’s not act like he doesn’t have 3 seasons of production. He has the most sacks in team history through their first 55 games.
