No one comes here for a 2 year contract.

Quote:I want someone from the college ranks. Somebody fresh, with new ideas.

Someone that will let the players dictate the scheme.

Never! Never! Never! This team has talent, we don't need another first time NFL head coach, that would set us back another 5 years.

Fresh ideas? Why does anyone thing fresh ideas come from somebody who've never held the job before? Bill Belicheck has fresh ideas for Pete's sake.

This team needs discipline. Someone who commands respect and doesn't brush off mistakes. Someone who isn't afraid to make changes to schemes and philosophises on a weekly basis depending on the team they are facing. Someone who can teach and knows how to use his player's to the best of his ability. Whether that be from the college ranks, a previous NFL head coach, or a coordinator.

Hard pass on a Pats coordinator.
Ditto...

Agreed. I'll take anyone except a Pats coordinator.
Quote:Like who??
I'll be honest. I have no idea.

I just don't want some has been from the NFL.

Josh McDaniels is a great OC, but Gus was a great DC.

I want a Head Coach that will pull Fowler to the side and get up in his face mask.

Not a coach that simply says "Ahh man, Donte...you can't jump"

David Shaw.
I want a no nonsense disciplinary coach

Ala Mike Zimmer
I'd take McDaniels. I'm sure he has matured more under BB this long.
I'm numb now. After last week I'm just numb.
Kirk Ferentz....
Pay Coughlin, entice Cowher or Jon Gruden.

No.

If you're looking at coaching retreads I'd look to Todd Haley.
If I were Khan/Caldwell, my interview would consist of a series of "hypotheticals" where I describe a situation where Gus' coaching decisions completely destroyed the team's chances. I would then take the interviewee's response on how they would proceed in each situation, and compare it to Gus' decisions. I think that would provide a lot of insight on who to hire.

Exactly. It's idiotic to go to the college ranks for a replacement. This team has the talent. You need an experienced head coach with a track record.

Been numb since 2015.  I knew after Bradley's second season we would continue this path until he is gone.  Life has sucked as a Jaguar fan since 2010.

I really don't get the Cowher/Gruden nonsense. They're done as head coaches. Sooner or later those of you who obsess over them will move on.

Coughlin is the only viable option of the three, and it would be a bold move to bring him back.
I hate feeling this way. We take losing to a whole new level.

I'm not one who is obsessed over those two fyi.
