 True
Quote:Bradley will be out sooner rather than later. The Roman idea isn't all that far fetched. Caldwell had his decision narrowed down between Roman and Bradley four years ago to headcoach this team. Marrone bailed on Buffalo after Ralph Wilson passed away. Not sure if that had anything to do with it but I do recall him leaving the team rubbed all the players the wrong way up there. I don't trust him as a headcoach when the tough get's going. I'd rather see Greg Olson get the interim job if that's the case.

Actually, the Roman story had no sustenance to it.

Roman it's known to be close friends with Caldwell and at the time his stock was quite high. However, he was still in the playoffs and Caldwell never actually interviewed him.

Also, I would be shocked if we brought in ANYONE from the outside to call plays, because they wouldn't know our offense and we wouldn't know his.

Just lining up the terminology would be hell, and there's just no way to do it midseason.

If anything, I think that if we HAVE to get a new OC, Hackett would be the most logical choice, as he is a very respected offensive mind and has previous experience.
We should try to break in a guy with no head coaching experience, but who's a real player's coach.
Quote:Been a jag fan since we 1st got the team and yes I hate losing2, but im not bout to sit here and bash my team. This is a young team that still learning and developing but y'all bash them and that ain't cool. Y'all ran Tom out of town now bout to run the jags out of town. Yes this team can b better and yes I feel like we a player or 2 away from been complete but get real. We got a roster that we can compete but they still have2 develop. We bash gus like he the 1thorwing pics and miss tackles and quick to say fire him like u can do a better job. I just hate all the negativity as a fan, I can understand if they laying down every week but it's only week 3. Talk to me/complain mid way though the season. Yes we got to get it together but come on now let this team develop, they tied of losing 2 and u can see it. Let the season progresses then u see the Truth. It will just b dumb to fire a Head coach week3, that loss may4 a turn point for this team. From a real jag fan go jags
Bruh they have been laying down since 2011...

I'm have been an avid Gus sympathizer and I agree I support the team. I want them to win. I don't want Gus to lose his job cause that means we suck. But we suck. We had no business losing that game like that in year 4 of a rebuild.

You said it yourself, we are only a 1 or 2 players away. Yes 1 or 2 away from being dominant. A team that close to being dominant doesn't get blowm out like that.

A team with Bortles, Hurns, Robinson, Thomas, Green, Malik, Fowler, Odrick, Miller, Marks, Yannick, Telvin, Jack, Ramsey, House, Amukamar, Gipson isn't supposed to lose that bad. Can you even name 6 players on the chargers roster?

This is a scheme issue. Gus has got to go. I'm tired of supporting this coach that can't figure out how to play Telvin and Jack at the same time.

Aren't you tired of being the team getting blown out every week? This is not the first time this has happened in this regime. This is like the 30th time. I am sick of it.

I'm not exactly opposed to this, but this isn't a magic wand that you just wave and it happens. This coaching staff created an OW for Denard, OTTO for Dekoda Watson, LOTTO for Skuta/Davis, and you guys think they are holding back Jack just for the fun of it? I believe there's a few things working against Jack.

If you are going to be honest about Jack as a player, you would realize that his best asset is his speed and cover ability. He's a cover LB. What he does not do well is attack downfield. He does not shed blocks all that well. He's a guy that you want to keep clean and allow to roam and just use his athletic ability to make plays.

The problem is we already have that player in Telvin, except Telvin *does* play downfield and attacks.

If you play him at MLB, he will need to know the playbook inside and out. He needs to be able to put players in the right spot because the MLB is the quarterback of the defense. He can't do that...yet. You can go back to preseason and even listen to Jack's interview after they had him play Telvin's WLB. He talked about how much simpler it was for him at that position vs. MLB.

Which leaves the SLB/OTTO spot of Skuta. I think at some point, the team may not have a choice but to try him here. I have my concerns here in the run game. There's also another issue, and its more a long-term one. I think we all know that Jack's eventual spot in this defense is MLB. If we take him out of that spot so he can learn SLB/OTTO, it takes away snaps/experience/reps in as a MLB for Jack.
1. You cannot change an entire offensive scheme and terminology mid season. It is completely impossible. Either Marrone would have learn the Jags offense and tweak it or player would be stuck with a very basic Marrone offense that would be easily scouted.

2. I really feel a good deal of the offensive regression is : Bortles incorrectly assessing pre-snap reads and checks (and audibling to the wrong play) and Bortles getting antsy in the pocket. Basically, he is not just playing and reacting. I think they need to take some things back on offense.

3. Also, Jason Verritt is a very good corner. Last year, Josh Norman took A-rob out of the game and no made a huge deal of it because no one realize that A-Rob was that good. This year, it happens and all of sudden everyone is a moron because they cannot get A Rob the ball.

4. Jags need to stop thinking they will be a run-first offense. They just won't with this offensive line and RB's. They need to start passing to run. That includes their current packages. They seem to be too obvious in limiting the up coming play.

Olson is OC, and would stay there if Gus is fired and Marrone takes over. Marrone is already assistant HC and coaching the OL, so even if it went the other way and it became HC-Olson / OC-Marrone the Jags would still run the same offense.

The difference would mainly be in player preparation, with some changes in emphasis (e.g. more often blitzing or running crossing routes).

Sound like this team just can't figure it out. You are correct they have tried and failed while I watch other teams make up stuff and succeed. I just wonder why MLB is therasiet position to play for a rookie outside of rb and our isn't ready. It seems like our rookie are never ready. Poz started from day one, Sean Lee started from day one etc...

But Jack, no he doesn't understand our overly simple scheme. The scheme that was said to be so easy and simple so the players can play fast...

Le sigh...

Anther season lost. At least we will get another high draft pick.

You aren't talking to a complainer, you are talking to a deafeated fan. This team should not be this bad right now. We have to agree on that right?
I haven't seen any announcement that Bradley has been fired.

[BLEEP] is it going to take???

"I take the blame for not having the team prepared.     WHY THE [BLEEP] NOT???  Isn't that your [BLEEP] JOB???

I wonder if Lane Kiffin can be lured away frim Alabama and college football for next season

MLB is far from the easiest position to learn. Just because Poz and Lee did it, doesn't mean Jack can. He wasn't really a MLB for UCLA, who moved him around (usually in a cover position). Basically, he's not Poz and Lee who have always been MLBs and have had tremendous experience at that spot.

I get the loss yesterday was difficult to stomach. But we're still in week 2. There's 14 games left. Jack won't sit on the bench the entire season. At some point, the mental reps will catch-up to his physical capabilities. But we can't be scrapping everything two weeks in and hitting the panic button.

Stick to surfing. Kiffin is AWFUL
HC: Harold Goodwin, Cardinals Offensive Coordinator, was with Arians in Indy,Pit and now Arizona

DC: Bill Kollar, Broncos, Defensive line coach
People always want names they recognize.

Sometimes this isn't bad.

Usually it is.  Because if you recognize a guy's name, and he doesn't have a job in the league--there's probably a reason for that.  Either he's retired, doesn't want to come back, or he sucks.

Whoever we get, they need to be a true leader who will set high standards and hold people accountable.

If we are not 2-2 at the bye Gus should be fired on the spot, 1-3 or 0-4 Gus should be gone

Give Greg Olsen the job for the rest of the year

i'm on board with bringing Coughlin back, guy knows how to get the most out of his players.

Remember what Shad Khan said last year when he gave Bus Gladly his extension? No? Read my sig.
