Amari Cooper is doing wonders for derek carr and it makes me more mad that we passed on him.
What help does Bortles have? Where's the running game to take the pressure off him? Where's the deep threat, when Lee is gone?

We find ourselves in too many third-and-long situations. Defenses can key in on our quarterback, because they know Yeldon's not much of a threat.

I second that. Cooper is in the end zone, Fowler is on the bench.

I can't lie. It's hard to watch because he was about as close to a sure thing as you can get.

Hey goober,I said Carr is decent
Quote:Where have you been? You only come around when we lose, huh?

That's a flat out lie. I was here after the phins game praising the win.
Quote:I believe we would have been very competitive if the offense was remotely competent. The defense was playing well enough to keep us in the game, at least. Unfortunately, this offense is just plain bad.

I have to agree. This offense has been absolutely dreadful this season (sans a couple drives in the first half last week).

Awful.
51 points against. Scored on every drive.

We're talking about Bortles?

Quote:Bridgewater has not been good this year. Arm strength is an issue with him just like a lot of people predicted.

He's played alright the first 2 weeks. At least he can complete short and intermediate passes with accuracy. I think he had a limited ceiling, but he hadn't been bad.

Yes. hes not the only problem, but he definitely is a problem.
Yeah I'm not sure why bortles is getting the brunt of the hate right now. The defense literally allowed points on every drive. Bortles is stuck on third and long every series. Mistakes are more likely to be made in those scenarios.
Quote:Pretty much.

They go silent after his good week and come out in full force once he makes a mistake.

What everyone is forgetting too is his mechanics aren't second nature yet, he was working on this just starting this off season and probably still has to think about what he's doing. Next season is when I'll make a full judgement call on bortles. Some of our "fans" are morons and make me ashamed that I have to root for the same team as them
Bortles will be fine, he was rushed into the job and is still learning and working on his mechanics.

Weird, that sounds exactly like what people were saying about a certain Blaine Gabbert

Bortles is part of the problem. When your team doesn't have a belief it can win then the whole team doesn't play as well. I don't think this team ever had the idea it could win, from the head coach all the way down to the long snapper.
People, I don't give a [BLEEP] about the 50 plus points on defense, or how bad the colts are playing. This team still has a ridiculously hard time scoring even 20 points. That's incredibly disturbing.

Pretty much this. I've seen real improvement and flashes of a really good QB. He OBVIOUSLY has a lot to work on and a lot to learn, but it looks like he is willing.

At least he isn't Tannehill. THAT is the definition of a bust. We will know if he's the right guy by next year. I hate saying "next year" again, but it's the truth.

Young team/injured team against the world champs/healthy champs was a recipe for disaster. Bortles wasn't the problem.

All of the rules are slanted toward making it easier now than its ever been for offenses to succeed, and the team is still scoring about 15 points per game, just like when Gabbert was under center.

Laughing

Can we keep this one? It's funny.

If you watch tape from last season and compare it to this season his footwork has marginally improved. He is still learning how to properly read defenses, and go through progressions.
