Quote:Pretty much this. I've seen real improvement and flashes of a really good QB. He OBVIOUSLY has a lot to work on and a lot to learn, but it looks like he is willing.

At least he isn't Tannehill. THAT is the definition of a bust. We will know if he's the right guy by next year. I hate saying "next year" again, but it's the truth.

Young team/injured team against the world champs/healthy champs was a recipe for disaster. Bortles wasn't the problem.

The fact that Bortles took the initiative on his own to work on mechanics and plays with receivers alone proves he is committed.
Your over a guy thats in his 3rd game of his 2nd year? Geez can players develop? Brady been in the NFL for 16 years

Did someone really say at least he's not tannehill?
Quote:51 points against. Scored on every drive.

We're talking about Bortles?

If bortles was half decent it would've been better. That's why. The defense actually played decent in the first half. Don't be stupid.

Brady has been good since he started playing.
Sounds like some of you should send your resume to Shad. I am sure he would be glad to place you in the proper file.

Couldn't be worse.

You mean a guy who started playing on a super bowl team was good once he started playing? Shocker

Blake came into a rebuilding team

We need a running game like Garrard had..it would be completely different

You obviously don't remember how the pats were playing when bledsoe got hurt and Brady came in. Brady made them a superbowl team.

You mean the same Bledsoe and Pats that went to the super bowl a few years earlier, still not the same situation as the Jaguars

Nobody said it was the same situation. But some QBs play well from the get go.

It is rare. Russell Wilson took over a team that had been to the playoffs and won a game just two years prior. And had an elite defense and running back.

Joe Flacco took over a team with multiple Hall of Famers on defense.

That's was earlier with a different coach. The year Brady took over that team was on a losing streak and going nowhere fast. Brady was the difference. It's ok to be wrong. I won't make you feel bad for it.

Which would be three quarters of the way through his second season, don't act like he got thrown to the wolves!

Wait a sec. People wanted to start bortles out of the gate. Now he was thrown to the wolves? Oh man the excuses are never ending. Apologists gonna coddle.
Quote:Bortles doesn't have a [BAD WORD REMOVED] higher ceiling, the [BAD WORD REMOVED] you talking about? Guy can't even [BAD WORD REMOVED] throw the [BAD WORD REMOVED] ball dude

I wonder what all those bad words were?
You're overreacting to 1 game. Bortles has looked promising so far and will continue to progress. You have to be patient.

Man, that game sucked.

BB5 looked OK.

D was out-classed.

Yeldon was spotty.

I think we out-psyched ourselves.

A few plays where the ball bounced one way instead of another in the first half, and I think the game would have been closer.

At the end, I turned off the game after the 3rd Quarter...  We're not good enough to play with the patriots yet...  I don't know if that's because of our players or our coach, or just that we need a few more games to get centered.

But I'm not surprised by this loss.  I am surprised by those that are freaking out.

BB5 did not (BAD WORD REMOVED) the bed.  It was a tough game where he did OK.  He was not terrrible like he was against Carolina.  He wasn't great, but he wasn't horrible.  Don't know why we are critical of BB5 this game.  Just a tough week to go against the cheaters...  All respect to them, they won this one.

I don't want to believe but the body of work he is putting together is not good. He's easily approaching irreversible bust territory. At one point do we just call a spade a spade? Do you think it's better if we end up with the number 1 pick and take Goff next year?
