One thing that the the scouts and GM saw in Bortles before drafting him was his ability to step up his game in crunch time situations. He's never phased. It showed today.
Quote:Good to know he's not a bust for the next six and a half days.

Pretty much.

I'm sure he is currently writing up his reaction posts to Blake losing in Foxborough next week.
Quote:You liked those drops in the second half, did you? Oh, wait, like a typical moron you opened your mouth too fast. A team can never have enough great WRs.

Why so hostile?
From RotoWorld;

Bortles is trying to erase the narrative that he only plays well in games that don’t mean anything. His performance against Miami in Week 2 won’t convince all his critics, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction. He was still erratic in stretches, as all young quarterbacks are. But Bortles didn’t make many mistakes and took full advantage of Allen Robinson’s speed advantage by delivering a string of accurate deep passes. He even showed off his wheels with a 28-yard run. Bortles could rack up big yards next week against New England’s porous secondary.

Jagantius, why don't you go read some spider-man comics or something.  Forum posting and watching football isn't for you...

where is JAGNITUS when the team does well?

I think this game could be summed up as redemption especially for Bortles and his comments after a poor week 1 performance.

Hopefully they step it up and shock the world by beating the Patriots on the road.

Bortles will have some bad games and will make mistakes.  But there is no doubt we have our franchise qb.  Anyone questioning that is an idiot.

I think Blake definitely needs his move TE.So often the wr's are covered and there's nobody to throw to.

I think it is a well known fact that you will encounter some idiots in here, much like out there in the real world.

As the saying goes "Idiots gonna idiot".
Quote:I've been hard on Blake but he played like the #3 pick in the draft he was a beast have to give him props

And you will start a thread calling him a bust the next time he throws an INT. Cool.
Quote:The WR drops are very frustrating!
Frustrating, yes.  But, there were fewer of them yesterday, and the guys who were the biggest frustration from week one made it their mission to redeem themselves.  I'd say mission accomplished.  The drops by a later round rookie need to be cleaned up, but they are less of a concern than seeing your front line guys making mistakes.

I know the trail of tears crowd is going to fixate on what might have been from the game yesterday.  So far we've seen what might have been an interception, and what might have been a bad placement of the ball handing us the win.  They're reaching for anything that they can in order to continue their hand wringing and whining.  It's what they do.  It was with great satisfaction that I walked out of the stadium yesterday knowing that there were a handful of MB posters who were beside themselves in agony because the team won a game nobody expected them to pull out, and all of the things they criticized last week were completely redeemed.

The end result is desperate reaches by the usual suspects to try to tamp down the win yesterday, or they're MIA completely showing us just how tiny those shriveled up berries of theirs actually are.  No doubt they'll be bowling ball sized the next time the team struggles.  It's amazing what the hydration from all their tears can accomplish.

Who's complaining about a win? I certainly won't. However it was still extremely sloppy and a lot of coaching points to learn from. Hopefully Gus and Bortles lead the way. The drops and over throws are still a big problem. I saw what at least 4 or 5 drops. But better to continue to work on it after a win. Let's see if the jags can be competitive against the pats.

Thanks for making my point, twitchy.  Keep wringing out that towel.  I'm sure you can get a tear or two out of it still.
So pointing a few facts and concerns is equal to complaining? Real smart tubbs. I'm happy the jags won. I hope they can win more. Is there a problem?

Like i've said before in another thread, i rarely post on here but i read.  You complain A LOTTTT SIR.  You've bashed bortles for being pretty close to garbage and have even said you wanted other players etc and now you change stances.  At least be a man and stay consistent with your post.  I remember reading this past week something you wrote and it made me cringe at the fact you call yourself a fan.  If you bash the team one week dont come singing with the rest of the fanbase after a W, i hate fans like that. im done but bet i want to say more.

I came back just to add that constructive criticism is acceptable, but i see what you've been posting far from it.

Not sure how anyone can use "Blaine Bortles" and be serious about it? Can't even use it as sarcasm either. The two are complete opposites as QB's

Yes?

What have I changed stances on? Please tell me. Because I've been consistent in stating that bortles is not a quality qb at the moment. I've said he needs a lot of work and needs to show progress soon. Yesterday was a nice start. I've been consistent in saying our Wrs need to play to their potential. Again yesterday was a nice start. However I've said I want Gus Bradley fired flat out. And I have not changed my feelings about him. He's in over his head. The jags won yesterday in spite of his poor judgement. one win doesn't fix everything. Let's win a few in a row. Let's beat a good team on the road. What's wrong with wanting to see some consistency? Now where have I changed my views again? If you have no response I'll assume you were just talking out of your blow hole.

LOL.  I have been watching the same offseason and games that you have and figured out we were progressing long before the MIA game.  Bradley has never been a HC and hasn't done anything, in my perspective, to cost us games.  He has been questionable at times but is the reason our team is progressing without a doubt.  The GM and HC speak about every player at every position before the draft and FA, if im not mistaken, so every step forward is because of both men as well as who they hire.

I mean, even NFL analyst knew AR15 could breakout this year in case you dont have tv, so whats your point.  Also, every debate about the position on this board was whether hurns would stay consistent, and whether lee would stay on the field and be the game changer he was drafted to be.  You probably are the only one defending negativity with statements already debated and agreed upon months ago.  Bortles has shown progression since the end of last year, all the way up until this point and the arrow is still pointing up so saying that players need to progress, is not stating anything but " aww duh" types of facts and statements.

This is Bradleys' type of team and until i see regression instead of progression i will not call for his head.  You have a nice, middle of the road type of stance, and hopefully that makes you feel like your always right since your only half wrong all season.  I'll keep my judgement focused on whether or not the team improves over last season before i start making comments like, if players play like they're suppose too then im happy; but if they dont, just draft someone else.  It works for you but i have a life, so i have better things to worry about than making dumb statements and playing the glass half empty, half full games you like to play.
