Quote:I'm still in Gus' corner, but I have to admit I got a little worried when he wasted a TO and Challenge by throwing that red flag. Don't we have guys in the booth to help him out? Even a kindergartner could see that an incomplete pass.
If you'd been in the stadium and saw the replay 50 feet tall, the challenge was at least somewhat justified.  It was close enough to roll the dice.  I won't fault him for that challenge because there was serious question about when the ball came out and whether he'd made football move taking 2 steps as he went down.  If Gus is watching the jumbos, and he's got someone in the booth telling him it's close enough to warrant consideration, so be it.  They didn't overturn the call.  No harm, no foul.  He has made some questionable challenges in the past, but this wasn't one of them.
Quote:I hoped we could be 2-0. What's uoire next question?
Hopes and expectations aren't the same thing, Twitchy.
Quote:Yes yes! 2 touchdowns hahahaha. Next week boys and girls maybe count bortles will teach us about the number 3 hahahaha.

I figured it out.  You watch way too much Sesame Street.

I disagree. I was in the stadium and I'm not even sure what fact he was challenging.
The play Gus challenged looked like it was either going to be incomplete or complete and down on TV. Looked like the ball came out after the receiver's knee hit.

That was my main disagreement with it, but I may have seen incorrectly.

Quote:I'm happy and said as much but then immediately got flamed. As if I can't be happy after a win. I was attacked from the get go and told my criticism is hand wringing. Then I was told by some other scrub that I flopped stances because I simply stated that I'm glad we won. I'm not going to sit here and pretend everything is great but I wasnt crapping the win either. Some posters just can't be objective. It's all good though.
SMH.  Well, it is 2015 and times are always changing.  With that thought alone, i will leave this debate after this last response about your "objective" point of view.  I should've never said you weren't a fan, i apologize.  Just tell me this, if i come on this board daily and post nothing but negative opinions about each position group that isn't somewhat league standard; and then i say all of the millions of reasons and scenario's in which we should and could lose, would you consider me "happy" when i post after a win?  If you would, i would question your judgement skills.  Celebrating a win after a week of explaining your reasons for an upcoming loss is never going to be, again in my perspective, a true fans way of staying optimistic and "hoping" for a good season as you put it.  Say something positive besides how glad your are for the team's progress AFTER we win, and use some positive optimism this week and turn that frown upside down.

That's the way I saw it. He could've screwed himself if they ruled it a catch because his knee definitely hit before the ball came out. As I said above, I'm not even sure what fact he was challenging.

TC, did you really use the word objective. Thanks for the laugh.

Look if you don't like my posts skip right on by. It's not my problem how you feel about how I view the team. I'm a fan and was a pure homer for years. I went years going rounds with clots and titians defending our team good or bad. I praised every single move the team made. I drank the kool aid and asked for more. After years of losing I started to really pay attention and see that this team hasn't been competitive since Tom coughlins last core picks were gone. I just began speaking my mind about it. I'll praise them when they do well and I'll criticize when they don't. I'll be realistic from now on. I thought this team would win 6 games. Will see if they can muster such a mediocre level.

Of course you won't fault him. You never do. Ol Gus is a great head coach.

I've made it clear I had the jags at 6-10. Some in the local media have them going 7-9. I hoped they would win both of the winnable games to start. Shall I go slower for you. Is there a particular language you'd like to have it translated to you so you can understand?

It's hard to stutter on a ma ma ma ma message board, but no you didn't stutter. If you need time to figure out why it was funny than take all that you need.
