Quote:I don't think most here would think he's electable, and that's not really the point.  He is in a position to change the narrative.  That won't get him elected, but it will put a far more focused energy on the issues that actually matter.

You talk about his hyperbolic talk as if he's the only one out there who has done it.  Did you pay any attention to the last 2 presidential elections?  Seriously, Obama ran around lying his posterior off and somehow he got the drones to vote  him in twice despite the fact that his only qualification for office was a pulse and he met the age requirements.  Other than that, the guy was unelectable, yet there were enough gullible souls out there to elect an empty suit because he read other people's words from a teleprompter in grandiose ways and they were inspired by a transcript.

Politicians lie.  They bend the truth to keep their benefactors on board.  They'll say whatever they need to in order to win elections.  Trump can pretty much say whatever he wants.  He's not beholding to anyone but himself.

Wait a sec.  You are forgetting that he was a "community organizer".  That's where he got his "real" experience.
Quote:Is that any different than democrats using voter ID laws to gin up anger among black communities to make sure they don't vote for any evil republican who might dare to disenfranchise them by requiring the provide proof that they are who they claim to be when they enter a polling place?

There is one difference.  What Trump is saying is far closer to the truth than what is implied by what democrats are saying regarding voter ID laws.  Still, it's a scare tactic.

Calling something scare tactics because it rightfully sheds light on a legitimate problem is disingenuous.  Not everything politicians or those seeking public office speaks is going to be rainbows and gumdrops, big warm hugs and smiles for days.  Sometimes the truth sucks.  Most politicians will spin things in a way to make them more palatable, usually after they've tested their message with focus groups.  It's clear that Trump didn't bother with that approach.  Oh well.  What he's saying is truth.  You think it's scare tactics?  That's fine.  Maybe we should wake up to the reality and actually be scared, and quit buying the tripe we're being told that everything is okay.

One thing you should be clear on, I'm not interested in arguments based one what one side does vs. the other. As much as you'd like to paint me, or anyone, as beholden to liberal issues, causes or candidates, I think they all suck. Both sides.

I think Trump thinks things through as much as when a 12 year old sees something shiny. What he said was pure bigotry, wrapped up in the guise of eschewing political correctness. I have no respect for him, whether he is forcing discussion on a serious issue or not.

Chapo Guzman and Donald Trump in a twitter battle.  This could get good.

Quote:Did that hurt your feelings?  Did I offend you by calling her Cankles?  I can certainly shred Hillary based on the issues, but what's the point?  You mind-numbed drones will still worship at her feet,  Whatever you do, steer clear of actual issues.  Focus on this kind of stuff.  That's what you've been conditioned to do.  You can't help it.
I pointed out your hypocrisy. Did that hurt your feelings? Clearly something struck a chord as you claim I have thin skin but wow look at your reaction.

How did Obama go from a lowly community organizer in poverty stricken areas of Chicago, to earning over $12 million dollars, and becoming POTUS all in about 10 years?

That's something that I would like to know.

Charisma.  You can say and do anything you want if you got it.  Him or Bill Clinton could have tried to reform the Nazi party under the fictitious Great American Act and people would have followed.

I would not necessarily call that "good".  Whether or not you agree or disagree with Donald Trump, to have an escaped cartel leader who directly threatens a presidential candidate is not a good thing at all.

Dear US Government,

The Mexican government knows exactly where I am and will neither capture nor extradite me, so shove it.

The only flaw with that is, even though the tweets are supposedly from him, it doesn't mean that he was in the location where the message came from.  Don't underestimate his intelligence.

What should be more concerning, and I can't believe that any "main stream media" isn't reporting this, is the message being sent.

Of course, the tweets could be "false" or "fraudulent", but the fact that this is not "real news" bothers me.

It is kind of disconcerting that a veiled threat from a cartel boss in a neighboring country against a presidential candidate is page two news.

Especially when it comes to said presidential candidate, this is what he's trying to highlight.
CANT STUMP THE TRUMP

Say what you want, but the fact remains that 100% of illegal aliens crossing our southern border are criminals.  What level of U. S. law breaking they perform after that initial crime only exacerbates their initial crime.

Quote:He's [Sen. John McCain] not a war hero. He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren't captured.

There's your Republican front runner, just honestly speaking his mind.

What's not to love?

Donald Trump is a sideshow barker, that's all.

There's a lot of folks lovin' that particular sideshow.

Trump is just running to make other Republicans look better.  They can look more human for defending McCain from the big bad trump.

Trump can say whatever he wants.  Being the frontrunner in July of 2015 is irrelevant.  The election isn't for another 15 1/2 months.  His frontrunner status will evaporate very quickly once it goes beyond name recognition and shock value and the campaign starts to get a little more serious.  Trump has about as good a chance of being the next nominee for the GOP as I do.
