  Unbelieveable!
Posted by: Donald Coleson - 11-09-2014, 11:08 PM - Replies (11)

We started off very strong but stumbled as we do. This was now the second game that special teams have bumbled so I expect some hard practice for them and a very strong rebound. I do not allow any blame on a warn-out D that only was able to rest for 3 plays at a time for most of the game. I get tired of hearing how young the jags are, Rookies or not the game has not changed at all. Score points and force turnovers not turn the ball over. But hey, times have changed. You just can't expect much out of this young generation these days. And they want to pay college ball players? Here are some pointers to win some games in the future. Going against an aggressive D then hard count, get them off guard. DB's think they know the WR's? Double moves and yes you have time. Bortles can make plays with his feet so move out of the pocket, that will also keep the D-line from just rushing in. They will just try to contain a little. Move your feet early. When the offense steps up to the line let the center make the call on who is doing what on the defensive line. We have only won 1 game so believe me, we have nothing to lose, SO PLAY LIKE IT!!! I could've worked on other things instead of watching the game but I believed in US. The rest is history.

Is it just me or does it seem like the D line has fell off a good bit since this guy got hurt.  Branch has gotten much better over the years but I didnt think the injury was going to hurt us as much as it has.  Thoughts

  Jags Always Seem To Be Just What The Doctor Ordred
Posted by: choyt - 11-09-2014, 09:53 PM - No Replies

It seems that the Jags are always just what an ailing team needs to get a win; we seem to make even the worst teams/players look like all-stars - i.e. Hill from Cinny, Hushmansaddah from Seattle...the list goes on. We are missing several ingredients necessary for winning team - like a strong pass rush or coach who knows how to set the line or a coach who knows how to coach defensive backs who can't cover their grand mother...ain't least we aren't Oakland...

  Some Perspectives on Losing
Posted by: rameyag - 11-09-2014, 08:47 PM - Replies (7)

Jaguars' fans are now accustomed to losing week after week, year after year, decade after decade.

Some fans express their frustrations on this board and others criticize them for their posts, but I thought I'd place the frustrations over losing into perspective with some quotations on losing.

"You can't blame your opponents for employing a strategy that beats your brains out with regularity."  Bill Clinton.  Or, in other words, "Look in the mirror, loser."

"You know what makes a good loser?  Practice."  Ernest Hemingway.  Or, in other words, "Losing begets losing."

"I hate to lose more than I like to win."  Larry Bird.  Or, in other words, "I hate to lose.  I hate to lose.  I hate to lose.  I hate to lose.  I HATE TO LOSE."

"Losing the election felt like the little boy who stubbed his toe in the dark and said, 'I was too old to cry, but it hurt too much to laugh.'"  Abraham Lincoln.  Or, in other words, "I hate to lose."

"Loss invites reflection and reformulating and a change of strategies. Loss hurts and bleeds and aches. Loss is always ready to call out your name in the night. Loss follows you home and taunts you at the breakfast table, follows you to work in the morning. You have to make accommodations and broker deals to soften the rabbit punches that loss brings to your daily life. You have to take the word 'loser' and add it to your resume and walk around with it on your name tag as it hand-feeds you your own [BLEEP] in dosages too large for even great beasts to swallow. The word 'loser' follows you, bird-dogs you, sniffs you out of whatever fields you hide in because you have to face things clearly and you cannot turn away from what is true."  Pat Conroy.  Or, in other words, "Never be a 'loser.'"

So, Jaguars' fans -- wear your frustration with losing with pride.  Never give up.  Never give in.  Never let anyone convince you to accept losing; to keep quiet; or to stop demanding a winner.

Once it stops hurting; once you stop caring; once you accept losing, it is time to move on.

Until then, remember, "I hate to lose.  I hate to lose.  I hate to lose."

  Game Opinions.

Hey guys. I was at the game today, as I've been at every single NFL game that has been played at Wembley. I only got into the NFL in 04 so I don't have the vast knowledge that you guys do.

Saying that, today was so disappointing. Yet again the offensive playcalling was predictable and boring. Me and my friend who is also a Jags fan were playing "predict the next play" and I was right about 70% percent of the time. It's all so predictable.

Not sure what was going on on defence today. Where was the pressure on a half fit Romo. And as there was no pressure, where on earth was the coverage?!

I thought Bortles played better than he has done in recent weeks. Today the OLine without Linder really struggled. I also noticed that none of the receivers seem to get open. Probably not helped by the play design. We don't seem to run many curl or post routes. And none of the receivers seem to improvise based on what's happening.

Special teams were awful, and the tackling a was again abysmal. How do we miss so many tackles?? Every week is the same.

I didn't actually think Dallas played well, which was more annoying. We kept giving them points and field position. This year is obviously another write off. We really need to spend some money in FA

  Jags a bad team no!
Posted by: snowwolf776 - 11-09-2014, 07:26 PM - Replies (19)

I though before the season we had the toughest schedule in the nfl,and we do.  Keep in mind divison  games will always be tough for a team no matter records.

now lets take a look at the results after 10 games this year played.

@eagles lost 34-17   Eagles are 6-2 now

@ redskins lost 41-10   Redskins are 3-6 now.

vs colts lost 44-17    Colts are now 6-3

@chargers lost  33-14  Chargers are 5-4 now

vs steelers lost 17-9   steelers are 6-4 now

@titians  lost 16-14 Titians are 2-7 now

vs browns won 24 -6  Browns are 6-3 now

vs dolphins lost  27-13  dolphins are 5-4 now

@bengals lost 33-23 Bengals are 5-3-1 now

vs cowboys lost 31 to 17.  cowboys are 7-3 now.

note the team we beat is leading their division alone.

only 2 of the teams have loseing records as of now redskins, and titians. otherwise we have played against playoof teams. all the other teams still have a shot to make playoffs. Jags are not bad,we have played great teams and haven't reached the next level yet. I thought this year our defense would,looks like I was wrong. who knows when our team will reach the next level. only time will tell.

  It is time Gus. Do Your Job.

Jaguars are 1-9 going into the bye week.  If you are going to make any changes in coaching staff this off season, now is the time to do it.

It seems most people believe there are major problems with the offensive and defensive coordinator positions. To avoid the "Its a new scheme" theme we run into it seems every year it is now you should be making these changes.  No more evaluation period for these coaches we are well past that, if changes are not made now then it is 100% on Gus.

  What can Cowboys teach us ?
Posted by: Andy G - 11-09-2014, 06:27 PM - Replies (26)

Ok, let's look at that one-sided shambles from a different perspective. How about we ask what we can learn from the Cowboys ?

Number one for me has to be that if you can build a dominant offensive line which opens up running lanes and gives your quarterback as long as he wants to pick a pass, then you win games. And if you want to do that, your best bet is to do what the Cowboys have done and invest your top draft picks in the OLine.

That was the big difference for me today. Romo was never really under pressure. Bortles was.

What else can we learn from the Cowboys ?
