Why?  Because it's just like 20 other threads that have debated what you just described?

I think we beat the tacks, and that buys Bradley one more year.  Whether it should or not is up for debate.  But I'd be surprised if Bradley is fired this year.

Hopefully we'll have new coordinators though.

Let me explain where the progress is on offense:  The WRs...  Guess why, the WR's coach is good.

Sullivan is awesome.

Yet:

  - Shorts still drops balls.

-  Hurns didn't even look for the ball on a pass he was targeted on.

We'll never now if he could have made a back shoulder play for a 30+ yd completion.

 - People were calling Lee a big disappointment just this morning.

Are these things Sullivan's fault? Bradley's?

How's the progress of the QB been?  I would say
we have seen ZERO progress from BB5.  I'm not saying BB5 should be Luck, or any other comparison.  I'm asking, objectively...  What progress and development has BB5 made from September to December?  He's good at rolling out... He's a good scrambler, he's fairly accurate most of the time...  Those are all things he's always been!

The O-Line is not getting better either...  They appear the same if not worse from the beginning of the year.  Otherwise, if the offensive units are all stuck in neutral and the coaches aren't getting them better, you got to look to find a staff that can get more out of the players we have.

Otherwise, they are just a bunch of overpaid baby-sitters.
YOU might say that, others may not share your opinion...again the top 3 says they see progress and thats all that matters

You need to apply for Gus's job or maybe even Caldwells since you can explain everything so well...All Caldwell and Gus have done their entire life is work Football...I'll trust their analysis over yours, nothing personal of course

I have lost faith in Gus. He seems to be all rah rah, but the team is still making the exact same mistakes it was making last year, tons of missed tackles.

I believe there is talent here, more then the past few years, but we still look absolutely pathetic out there.

I know that Gus will probably be here next year for his third year, but Khan has to ask himself, how much longer until we see a better product and better results on the field.

I also believe Gus will be gone before Dave is. Dave will get a 2nd HC before he has to worry about anything. IMO
Quote:If you can figure out how Gus is responsible for Bortles making dumb decisions, Denard, Shorts and Harbor dropping passes, a young O-line playing like a young O-line and LBs and safeties missing dozens of tackles, then you may be onto something.

I happen to think it's strange to look at all those mistakes and just lay them at Bradley's feet.

Yeah, something's gotta' give. They can't keep making so many stupid mistakes. The majority of them are coming from rookie, second year and undrafted players though - so I'm not so sure it's all coaching.

After watching today's game - I came away thinking the  LB and DB position coaches aren't getting it done in terms of preparing their units to make  tackles properly and consistently. The rest just looked like stupid mistakes by individual players or rookies being rookies.

Maybe it's all on Gus. I don't know  - but it sure seems like blind speculation to assume so IMO.
This!
Quote:Tell that to the Rams..
They really should be in the play offs and should better far better than their record.

EDIT: Man they never get any love. I understand their blowouts have been vs two horrible teams and they lack a QB but they are a better team than anyone cares to notice.

No Coach or GM could have done better with what we had. The Owner made a decision to gut the team and start over. Today I saw our team take step forward, I am excited about the future. Blake will be Monster if we can just get an O-line and receivers that don't drop the dang ball.

Does anyone think that Fisch's offense is built for Blake to have the best chance to succeed?  Built to Blake's strengths?  Built around the franchise QB?

Quote:They need to fire Caldwell poor drafting

While I agree, GM's typically get more time. If they stay this bad (which most are expecting at this point) we could see Gus fired and David will get a shot at finding another coach. But if the team STILL sucks after that, he's probably gone with the next coach (2 years max).

If Gus sticks around it's probably given the two are then tied at the hip. They either starting showing progress next year and at least sniff .500 or their both fired next year.

At this point I see scenario 2 as a more likely option. I think Khan likes Gus and he's given a chance to right the ship but if he goes down I think he takes David with him.
Yeah, Gus is gonna be here next year, I'd bet my mortgage on it--if the wife would allow.

And the likelihood of the entire staff being here is also better than 50%.  How much over 50% iis the question...

My thoughts exactly, still people are drunk from last week. You really think we took a step forward? Did you watch the game???? OMG..
So..........

Cyprien still sucks.

Cute.

Continue to defend Gus and this staff, that's your choice.  It's not wrong for people to question Bradley and staff based on the results on the field.  The results speak for themselves.  This is a results based business, at some point the excuses run dry and changes get made.

I believe Gus stays, whether that is right or wrong is a different story.  If he does then changes have got to be made with his coaching staff.  You can't continue to play like garbage for this many games and keeps status quo.  The definition of insanity applies there.
Quote:Mathematically, eventually you're going to hit on at least some of those top 3 draft picks.
I don't know man. We've been picking in the top ten for years and how many all pros we've snagged? Only one looked like something is Blackmon and he's a junkie that can't play.

No staff could do better than 2-11 with this team?!

That's a far fetched statement...

They took a step forward?   Wallbash

I think the "franchise QB" is a rookie with very limited strengths to build on or around-  and he's not consistent enough yet to really count on any "strengths."

So far - improvising and extending plays seem to be his best asset and Fisch certainly incorporates that with the roll-outs and option plays.  But you need more than just "escapability and throwing on the run" to build anything meaningful  around the guy. He's a rookie.
Raiders are up 11 on the 49ers right now....
they are getting at least 3 years.  be nice to see continuity for several years. give the system time.  if it doesn't happen next year fine, but starting over constantly is a mistake, not just for this staff but the ones you want to hire in the future,,  but wont come here to work for an owner with no patience.

Quote:Sacks are not indicative of a pass rush. Too many games (like today), we had QB's that just sit back there and do whatever they want.

Fitzpatrick threw for 150+ yards. Pass rush ain't the problem. New OC and offensive staff.
