Quote:But wait. Time will magically make Bradley capable of developing young talent. He will be able to make halftime adjustments in time. His clock management will improve with time. Time.

Ahhh halftime adjustments again.

We only make them when we win. All the teams with the best qbs seem to make them as well. What a coincidence
Quote:he had nothing to do with the pass rush improvement.  $$ did.

You pay 2 guys over 3 a very nice contract right after they get cut from Seattle to get them here - and suddenly your pass rush is improved.
So he had nothing to do with the improvement of Branch Marks and Ryan Davis? umm ok, he gets blamed when players suck but if they do good its not him

Like my post above, we have tons of young players developing, its just we still make mistakes and play good one half and bad the other half, that stuff has to improve next year, but right now Gus should get one more year.

his first year he had an awful roaster, this year its way too young, next year its on Gus or he is gone

I'm waiting for the time that the locker room implodes and finally says "I'm sick of hearing this crap" from Gus.

Quote:Here we go again with another knee jerk joke of a thread from a loss. Shocker.

Good call...shame on people for "knee jerking" after Bradley's 6-29 start with the Jags.  We have such bad fans I tell ya.

Well, the product on the field is laughable at times.

I find myself laughing at it myself at times.

Knee Jerk?

We have the worst point differential in the league... Worse than the Raiders and Jets.
Quote:Let me ask you guys, and this is me trying to be honest...

Last week we came out and did a great job in the 2nd half of the Giants game.  We proved we could play D and we proved we could move the football in the 2nd half...

So the players all came out and played again this week.  What changed?

To me, the variable is preparation and game planning.  The variable to me is coaching.

don't get me wrong I think there were some drops and other plays that were solely on the players, but overall...  As an entire team, the variable to me is the coaching...

I mean, even the difference between the 1st half and the 2nd half is so bizarre to me.  But I think this also is the coaches.  I mean, if we as outsiders can see that we are always coming out flat in the 2nd half, don't you think the coaches are aware of it too?

Should they not be figuring out ways to correct that?

I warned last week that the Giants did what they've done the last 6 games leading into the Jags game.  The been grossly outscored in the 2nd half.  Yes, our D played well but the Giants collapsed in the 2nd half which has been their MO.

The 2nd half of last week was not the norm, it was a fluke (or spark if you want to be positive).

I do agree with your conclusion though that the coaching is not good.  The norm is the Jags not appearing prepared.  It's been rare that they seem ready for a game or actually make constructive in-game adjustments.
1.  David Carr today threw for over 250 yards.  He had 3 TDs.  He had 0 ints...  And the offense scored over 23 points...

     A.  Is Carr better than BB5?

     B.  Is the offensive game planning in Oakland better than the game planning in Jacksonville?

2.  How can anything be a knee jerk reaction at this point?  It's december.  We know this team.  It's no longer a surprise how bad we are.  We're all just commenting on how bad we are, and why we're as bas as we are...

Carr is doing some nice things up there.

It's not like he's got a better arsenal of weapons.  I'm not sure how good their Offensive line is - i'm going to guess that they're better than we are.

Was Carr under pressure the whole game, did he have 3 drop passes on plays that would have been big, did the Jaguars play the 49ers today, one game doesnt make him better then Bortles
Quote:I'm waiting for the time that the locker room implodes and finally says "I'm sick of hearing this crap" from Gus.

I would not expect that to happen. I think the locker room is pretty much behind him.
Yes Carr is better. Simple. He's had a game with 4 td's and a game he's thrown for 3. Has Bortles come close to doing that? We could play those same 49ers 100 times and would probably win once. Now to justify Bortles sucking people are saying the Raiders has a better team than the Jags? A few weeks ago people on here thought they would go 0-16 and were horrible. These homers are a trip and a half.

Carr has a experinced line and OC calling plays to his stregths not running out trick plays and option plays for a Drop Back Passer.  I think BB5 is better then car but needs a new OC to get the most out of his skills.

Who wouldn't want to have a boss like Bradley?  You get paid well and your boss encourages the heck out of you for sucking! lol

we'll see.  I think Gus' approach isn't something that's sustainable long-term.
We are almost 30 games into this rebuild. We should see some progress.  I don't care how bare the cupboard was when these guys got here.  30 games is plenty of time to see improvement.  I don't think that anyone is expecting Super Bowls at this point, but for crying out loud, let's win a couple of games.  Especially the ones we should win and maybe steal another one or two that we're not supposed to win.  Today we saw the Texans line up on 4th and 1 and we were caught completely off guard.  That's coaching.  Everyone knew what they were doing and we were completely unprepared.  Same thing with the touchdown where Blue got loose.  You know they're running the ball.  Load the box and take it away.  I'm tired of watching every team in the league stick it to us.  We are out coached week in and week out.  I'm ready for this clown show to end and get someone in here who has half a clue of how to prepare a team for play on Sunday.  Not just prepare, but make some freakin' half time adjustments too.

You're right but be ready for the Gus Bus riders to beat you down lol.

I think so too...

Even to concede that the raider's O-Line is better than our O-Line, the fact remains that other teams are much better at getting the best out of their teams than we are.

For instance, we went with the Wolverine like 4 times.  It should have been abandoned much sooner than that.  On the other hand, the spread option worked the 1 time BB5 kept it...  But we only went back to it 1 other time, in which he gave it to Shoelace and it was stuffed.

It's like we don't know how to use our team to get the best out of them.
Quote:Young talent is not developing?

Bortles is a rookie QB so he's gonna have ups and downs, I see Hurns playing well, Allen Robinson was a top rookie WR, Lee has gotten better, Linder and Bowanko are prob our best OL men.

Denard Robinson went from best awful his rookie year to a legit RB

Telvin Smith is playing like a stud, JT Thomas wow where did he come from is a stud, Branch had broken out before he got hurt, Ryan Davis looks good, D.McCray 7th round pick is our best CB, Covlin looks good.

Cyp still makes mistakes but he is ok, outside of Joeckel who is a bust as of right now, there is more positive development of young talent then negative

But yet you claim he is not developing young talent

Robinson and McCray have improved their second year. Nobody else in that class has. If anything, everybody else has regressed.

Telvin looks like a keeper. JT Thomas a stud? No. Branch has been a nice piece but I doubt he is in the team's long terms plans.

Coaching sure does matter doesn't it.

Crazy how a good coach gets the best out of their players.
