Quote:Raiders are up 11 on the 49ers right now....
The Raiders look like progress and improvement. Out of all tbe starting rookie qb's we have the worst one.
Quote:Fitzpatrick threw for 150+ yards. Pass rush ain't the problem. New OC and offensive staff.
Fitzpatrick had all day on 8 or 9 of his 13 completions.  That's too much time on too many passes.

Pass rush was ineffective on a few key 3rd downs.  It could be much better.
I think fans just want to see accountability. Not just from a player aspect, but from a coaching aspect as well. Yes, coaches should be able to have a few years to prove their worth, unless your name is Mularkey. I think they're tired of having to just "settle" for what's being put on the field, and asking for 4-6 wins, shouldn't be asking for much.

Quote:Sullivan is awesome.

Yet:

  - Shorts still drops balls.

-  Hurns didn't even look for the ball on a pass he was targeted on.

We'll never now if he could have made a back shoulder play for a 30+ yd completion.

 - People were calling Lee a big disappointment just this morning.

Are these things Sullivan's fault? Bradley's?

--Shorts hit his ceiling.  Sullivan did a good job making that WR what he is today.  There's only so much lipstick you can put on a farm animal before you run out of lipstick.

--I don't recal the Hurns play you are referencing, but in my opinion, Hurns is fully integrated into the NFL and into this offense.  He is not a liability.  The one play you reference could very well be an issue where the route tree Hurns was called to run is one that he doesn't expect the ball as early as it was delivered.  But if you let me know what quarter the play was in, I'll go check it out on my DVR.

---Who called Lee a bust?  I want names!  Heads will  roll!!!!!   Lee is legit.  Anyone that has been watching for the last 3 weeks could have seen this.  He also is fully integrated into this offense and is not a liability.

Sullivan should be getting credit for this.

Now the other coaches on the offensive side have some 'splainin' to do...
Quote:I think the "franchise QB" is a rookie with very limited strengths to build on or around-  and he's not consistent enough yet to really count on any "strengths."

So far - improvising and extending plays seem to be his best asset and Fisch certainly incorporates that with the roll-outs and option plays.  But you need more than just "escapability and throwing on the run" to build anything meaningful  around the guy. He's a rookie.

WoW! Limited strengths. He's a kid! The strengths seem evident to me. He can extend plays, defenses have to gameplay specifically to his skills that you don't think he has. His WR corps is young and weak! Shorts has regressed I will give you that. Our OL has no anchor! Coming into next season though are you really afraid of any team in our division? Comparing Luck to Bortles is idiotic! Luck has feasted on terrible teams and has had massive turd games as well. Look at the game he had against CLE! he should have lost that game! TEN should gut their team just like we did, and Houston looks like the happiest team that will go 8-8 or 9-7 and miss the playoffs. A mature team wins against Houston today. If you can't see improvement then you're blind and impatient.

Out of all the starting rookie QB's, ours has a bad supporting cast and coaching staff.

He had all day to throw on most of those. If they were not running so well, I am sure we would have seen more passing yards.
Quote:YOU might say that, others may not share your opinion...again the top 3 says they see progress and thats all that matters

You need to apply for Gus's job or maybe even Caldwells since you can explain everything so well...All Caldwell and Gus have done their entire life is work Football...I'll trust their analysis over yours, nothing personal of course

Well I thought it was a given that my stupid opinions are all just MY opinions.  But yes, it's just my opinion.

And you can trust them if you want.  I'm just spit-ballin' over here, cuz it's fun to do after that heart wrenching loss...

Pass Rush got handled all day.  The QB had an eternity back there

Funnily enough Derek Carr has been awful.

Bortles again looked so promising today despite having no time and stupid drops

You're barking up the wrong tree, Cruella.  NYC4Jags is on your side and a very good poster...
So  hows the zone blocking scheme working. Fisch has to go. He does not know how to call plays in the NFL, He is using plays that do not complement the pocket passing QB we have. ZB is not working for drop back passing. FireFisch.com

LOL You're saying the same thing as me. With lots of exclamation marks!!

Yes, he has limited strengths  - because he's a rookie. It's easy to see his potential.

We were talking about building a playbook around him.  Kinda' hard to build a playbook around "potential."  The offseason will be the time to really do that.  In the meantime Fisch caters to his limited "strengths" to some degree, but it's not going to pay big or consistent dividends until the kid gets better and he has a line that doesn't suck so frequently.

I appreciate these rare instances when we agree  :teehee:

I still dont believe Gus is gone at the end of the season but I really wish we could play solid a whole game. Playing good in the first half only to meltdown in the second just blows my mind.

I understand we have rookies and very young players but I still hate that Fisch has been calling too many of the same plays. that dont work even ugh...

I've been in the keep Bradley camp for a while, but after today, I think it's time to let go at the end of this season.  The record is most likely going to be worse or at best, the same as last year.  I don't see where we are progressing with that result and the last time I checked, the NFL is a production based business.  My gut feeling is still that Bradley stays one more year, but Fisch and Babich are most likely gone.  I understand Bradley's methodology, but I just don't think it's going to work in the NFL.  I think with the talent that Caldwell is compiling, we should be able to attract a competent coaching staff to Jacksonville.  Just my .02.

Quote:I seriously doubt Bradley is going anywhere.

This is the reality. Bradley is the safest 2 win coach in the NFL. He's not going anywhere.
Bradley and the entire lollygag coaching staff need to go.

I think Caldwell is doing a decent job acquiring talent.

We need some experience.

You are probably right.

Bradley will keep his job.

Fisch will be the sacrificial lamb.

We will bring in some low level offensive coordinator.

Next year, Bradley will be fired.

Cool.

pretty much how it'll play out.  we are prolonging the inevitable.

Just get them all out of here.  They're not the right guys for this project.
