That is some sobering and scary stuff. My sister and her boyfriend recently moved from the beach just across the intracoastal to southside. I am thankful for that after seeing that video. Unfreaking real.
Quick question from a dumb Brit who has never experienced anything close to a hurricane... when they evacuate people do they give you free accommodation or do you have to sort that yourselves?
What's the radio station for First Coast News?

You can go to a free shelter that the city opens, usually at a school somewhere, but you have to bring your own stuff with you.

No accommodations as far as I know. Maybe if your home were wrecked when you got back, you may be able to get insurance to cover the expenses, but I doubt it.

One of them is on WQIK but I don't remember which one.

Sandbags wouldn't have helped here.
Where's our beach poster at who was riding out the storm? Check in please to make sure you're OK.

It's indeed sobering.   W/o saying,  the higher tide conditions made an already bad situation much worse.

My pleasure.    Having radio access during a Hurricane is essential.
I think we've hit high tide right?  obviously the surge is going to keep moving in, but hopefully it will be slightly offset by the fact we're past high tide.

Power coming on noon Sunday at earliest for JEA
Just when I thought we where in the clear. Tree fell away from the house thank God and took out the back fence and gate then the power just went out for good. Waters now over the top of my parents fence and the roads completley washed out. Clean ups gonna be fun
Saying on the radio that they may not open the beaches tomorrow.  potentially too much flooding and more importantly will have to check the bridges for storm damage.  I would hate to not be able to get back and check, even if it just a day.

According to the following site,  high tide at Jacksonville Beach was at 12:03PM.   Low Tide will be at 6:28pm:
