And that's relevant why exactly?

He just can't be inconvenienced by being away from an International Airport. The latest models show it moving east after kissing the coast near Daytona.

Actually, given that it's a category 4 hurricane that might actually make landfall there before hugging the coast clear up through Jacksonville, I think it's more likely that he doesn't want to die.
The latest track shows it eventually heading south. Watch it hit us twice.

I had saw that one particular track earlier this week and kind of laughed it off. Now I wonder if it really will circle back thru.

I told my husband it would be beyond jacked up if it went and hit Haiti, Jamaica, the Bahamas and Cuba again. Especially Haiti.
My thoughts, and prayers are with everyone thats in the path of the hurricane.
The last path I saw looks like Daytona/St Augustine area could get hit pretty bad.

Talk about coincidence, I'm doing shots right now too.

Is Clay County inland enough to avoid flooding? My parents live in Middleburg, and I'm worried about them.
Flooding is more a function of terrain than location. I lived near the coast when a hurricane dumped 18" of rain in 36 hours. We weren't flooded because the land around was so flat everything just ran off toward the ocean.
Of course we were required to pay $500 per year for flood insurance because we lived in "a flood zone."
God speed everyone. It was nice arguing with you on the politics board. See you on the other side.
I'll die when I'm ready to die

*edit: never mind, misread this. Apologies.

I'm not ready for you to die. I need someone on this board with a sense of humor sicker than mine, who's willing to say what I truly feel, consequences be damned. Don't die on me. YOU HEAR ME? DON'T YOU [EXPLETIVE DELETED] DIE ON ME!
Good luck. If you can keep posting to let everyone know you're ok.

That skull is freaking me out!
Quote:Is this the slowest moving hurricane or what?
No that would be Frances from 2004. That dirtbag moved at a pace of a few mph I believe, maybe even less. Was hammered for two days straight with no power for a week.
Quote:...why? So that one of the poorest countries in the world, one that can't seem to catch a break on natural disasters, gets raped by Mother Nature again? What about that amuses or excites you in the least?
I think you completely misread her post. She was saying it would be bad for those countries to be hit twice, especially Haiti.
Make sure to stock up on frozen pizzas
