Quote:My ideal draft:

1st round- Brandon Scherff (OT/G) Iowa

2nd round- La'el Collins (OT/G) LSU
3rd round- Jay Ajayi (RB) Boise State Also wouldn't mind Duke Johnson (RB) Miami
4th round- Breshad Perriman (WR) UCF
5th round- Josh Shaw (CB) USC
6th round- Trey DePriest (LB) Alabama
7th round- Clayton Geathers (SS) UCF

Some experts have Collins as their number one tackle. I would be extremely surprised if he is there at our second pick.
Free Agency:

Julius Thomas, TE - I think Caldwell's going to push hard for this guy during the off-season, him coming here would be a dream come true.

Brian Bulaga, RT - This position needs upgrading, big time. Bulaga is the guy for the job.

Devin McCourty, FS - A good player who is young but also has a lot of experience already in the NFL. Would be really good to have around here.

In review, I think this would be an excellent free agency if these players, or even one or two of them, were able to be brought in. All are productive and experienced guys on winning teams, starters the Jags really need.

Draft

Round One: Randy Gregory, DE

Round Two: Arie Kouandijo, G - A guy who could potentially replace Beadles this year or next, one of the best inside run blockers coming out and could develop into a quality starter.

Round Three: Hau'Oli Kikaha, DE/LB - Played DE in college, but is more of the size for a player in Gus's OTTO position. Really good pass rusher, and I think he'd be a steal at this point in the draft. I see him falling due to size concerns. Area of concern would be coverage, but he has decent speed and agility and with practice he could become solid in this area.

Round Four: Chaz Green, T - Was a solid overall player for UF, would add good depth to the line and has the talent to become a good player.

Round Five: Amarlo Herrara, MLB - Productive player who's a good run stopper, odds of finding him in the fifth are relatively low, but possible all the same. He plays with a chip on his shoulder. Could become a good starter down the line, if not another good depth player.

Round Six: Kevin White, CB - Competition for the the on the fence guys going into next season. Could be a good fit at nickel if one of the young guys don't pan out. Insurance pick, also can contribute in ST's down the line.

Round SevenAustin Blythe, C - Depth Acquisition to the O-line. Competition for McClendon.

This draft would add lots of talent to the O-Line and the Front 7, two points on the team that are not only suffering from lack of talent, but lack of depth as well. These selections would add both.

Man I love this but Perryman is going in the second unless he's jumped by some combine freaks. Still I think a tandem of Perryman/Gregory would be just what this defense needs. TBH I'd much rather target a vet RT.

EDIT: Nvm just saw the trade. Totally reasonable then! Love it!

Quote:1. Tampa Bay Buccs (2-14)- Marcus Mariota QB

2. Tennessee Titans (2-14) - Leonard Williams DT

3. Oakland Raiders (2-14) - Amari Cooper WR

4. New York Jets (3-13) - Jameis Winston QB

5. Washington Redskins (3-13) - Brandon Scheriff OT

6. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-12) - Randy Gregory OLB

7. New Orleans Saints (5-11) - Shane Ray OLB

8. New York Giants (5-11) - Vic Beasley OLB

9. Chicago Bears (6-10) - Landon Collins S

10. Carolina Panthers (6-10) - Andrus Peat OT

You might want to look at the NFC South standings again. It is impossible for the Panthers to have a 6-10 record.

Here are the current records for those 10 teams:

1. Buccaneers 2-13

2. Titans 2-13

3. Jaguars 3-12

4. Jets 3-12

5. Raiders 3-12

6. Redskins 4-11

7. Bears 5-10

8. Saints 6-9

9. Giants 6-9

10. Panthers 6-8-1

The Falcons, Vikings, and Rams also are 6-9 and would pick before the Panthers if the draft was today.
I think the Giants have a good chance to catch lightning in a bottle!
Why do people keeping saying they want Julius Thomas? Dude is injury prone and a product of Peyton Manning. I'd rather have Charles Clay who has been playing well with a QB very similar to ours.

Until he plays with another quarterback, you don't know if Peyton Manning is making him look better than he is. That is true for everybody who has not played with any other quarterback in the NFL. So if Julius Thomas has only played with one quarterback, no one has any reason to call him "a product of Peyton Manning." Now if Julius has already proven he only plays well with Peyton, I can believe you. But I have no memory of him sucking before Manning arrived.
Payton Manning makes everything better he's the bomb
Julius Thomas has something that our TE's don't have : hands that can catch a ball.

Exactly. I will never understand why some people think just because he plays with Peyton Manning, he must be overrated.

Unfortunately our chances of getting Julius Thomas are not very good if John Elway tries to keep him in Denver.

I don't know... They may let Thomas test free agency, but Thomas is a different story. They need to lock up Thomas ASAP!

It has been known since Super Bowl Week the Broncos cdo not want to re-sign Wes Welker. That is why they signed Emmanuel Sanders in the offseason.

If there is only enough money to keep three free agents, I would expect Rahim Moore to be the other salary cap loss. The Broncos want to keep Julius Thomas if they can.

Free Agency

Bryon Maxwell-Guy has been good for "The Legion of Boom" and might be one of the more expensive guys on this list but the guy is typical Seattle corner and would be a great addition to our Defensive Backs

Tashaun Gipson-Will be the hardest guy to get out of all of these free agents because he is an RFA, if we do get him though the guy is a ballhawk had 6 INTs and 8 PDAs in just 11 games this year before spraining his MCL. Would be great with Cyp in the back end of the secondary and well he plays good in Jax(had 2 picks)

Dan Skuta-Should not be expensive but would be a great backup linebacker for our young starters

Kelvin Sheppard-Has bounced around the league in his young career but was a solid linebacker in Buffalo and it didnt workout in Indy but is having a decent year as a backup with the Phins

Brandon Tate-The answer to our return problems is this guy,was a beast on special teams with NE and now is at Cincy and while Pacman mainly does the returning now this guy is still good and is not a bad #4 WR

Louis Delmas-Went to Miami this year and was having an above average year starting for them but tore his acl a couple weeks ago but could be a cheap back up to cyp whom would add starting experience and a veteran presence to the back end of the secondary

Terrance Cody-The guy is BIG and is a upgrade over Arby Jones at NT and wold be a good backup for Roy Miller as a rotational run stopper

King Dunlap-Having a pretty good year out in SD, has been in the league for 5 years now and would be an upgrade over Pazstor and Young

Virgil Green-Because Clay Harbor cant block and Green is a really good blocker he would be a cheap pickup that would provide the team with depth and help in run support

Davin Joseph-Our O-Line sucks and while Joseph is past his prime he can be a solid backup Guard with his starting experience and can still be used in spot duty

NFL Draft

**Trade #3 for #13 and #17**

1(13) Dante Fowler-DE-UF-Guy never reached his full potential at UF but has the tolls and the motor to be a very good pass rusher who also can play the run well. Was the 2nd best player on Florida this year and while his numbers do not pop out and he shows inconsistency the guy is a athletic freak that can develop under Clemmons before he takes over primary pass rushing duties.

1(17) Shaq Thompson-OLB-UW-If you love Telvin Smith well why not get a guy with his same speed and coverage ability? Absolutely love this guy, he plays sideline to sideline, used to play safety, plays some running back, guy can tackle and always goes for the ball. Pretty much another Telvin Smith which would make our linebackers one of the fastest units in the NFL

2 Darryl Williams-OT-OU-The best thing about Williams is that he is a naturual Right Tackle!!! He is a great run blocker and has started for 2 years now for Oklahoma and has been a big part in their run game and has improved his pass protection and can sit behind Dunlap for a year or 2 before taking over the starting job.

3 Jay Ajayi-RB-BSU-Guy is a tough hard nose runner that can catch the ball out of the backfield and was pretty much Boise States offense this year. The guy is a horse

4 Shaq Mason-G-GT-Produced very solidly for the GT running attack and is often used as the lead blocker in there system. Would provide good depth and can replace beadles one day

5 Kevin White-CB-TCU-Very underrated corner because of his size but the guy is pretty good and would be a good backup in the nickel and a quality pick in the 5th

6 Jake Smith-C-Lou-Has good size and has played well for Louisville for 2 years now and while he struggled against Eddie Goldman of FSU he has had a very solid season and reminds me of a bigger Bowanko

7 Travis Raciti-DT-SJSU-Just an average DT that has high energy plays and is on the smaller side that can be pushed around but is a solid tackler but probably wouldnt make the roster

Most of these lists look great but a little unrealistic. I don't think some of the mentioned players will drop into the 2nd and 3rd as listed.
