Quote:Most of these lists look great but a little unrealistic. I don't think some of the mentioned players will drop into the 2nd and 3rd as listed.

I am against signing Julius Thomas and Murray.

Do you know a tight end better than Julius Thomas or a running back better than DeMarco Murray who will be free agents after the playoffs?

What does that have to do with anything?
Quote:Free Agency

Bryon Maxwell-Guy has been good for "The Legion of Boom" and might be one of the more expensive guys on this list but the guy is typical Seattle corner and would be a great addition to our Defensive Backs

Tashaun Gipson-Will be the hardest guy to get out of all of these free agents because he is an RFA, if we do get him though the guy is a ballhawk had 6 INTs and 8 PDAs in just 11 games this year before spraining his MCL. Would be great with Cyp in the back end of the secondary and well he plays good in Jax(had 2 picks)

Dan Skuta-Should not be expensive but would be a great backup linebacker for our young starters

Kelvin Sheppard-Has bounced around the league in his young career but was a solid linebacker in Buffalo and it didnt workout in Indy but is having a decent year as a backup with the Phins

Brandon Tate-The answer to our return problems is this guy,was a beast on special teams with NE and now is at Cincy and while Pacman mainly does the returning now this guy is still good and is not a bad #4 WR

Louis Delmas-Went to Miami this year and was having an above average year starting for them but tore his acl a couple weeks ago but could be a cheap back up to cyp whom would add starting experience and a veteran presence to the back end of the secondary

Terrance Cody-The guy is BIG and is a upgrade over Arby Jones at NT and wold be a good backup for Roy Miller as a rotational run stopper

King Dunlap-Having a pretty good year out in SD, has been in the league for 5 years now and would be an upgrade over Pazstor and Young

Virgil Green-Because Clay Harbor cant block and Green is a really good blocker he would be a cheap pickup that would provide the team with depth and help in run support

Davin Joseph-Our O-Line sucks and while Joseph is past his prime he can be a solid backup Guard with his starting experience and can still be used in spot duty
anything but this.
My latest round of fantasy is this...

Free Agency

1. Jason Pierre Paul - DE - Giants - play the Leo DE where he is strong against the run and great in the pass rush as seen with his 10.5 sacks this season

2. Julius Thomas - TE - Broncos - have him man the Slot WR position. No tiny nickel back will be able to cover him giving Bortles the mismatch advantage

3. DeMarco Murray - RB - Cowboys - team him with Shoelace as the 3rd down RB and Gerhart as the short yardage RB and we have a running game

4. Jason Worilds - OLB - Steelers - Worilds can cover the TE and also rush the passer as seen with his 6.5 sacks this season

I give JPP - 12 Mil per season for 4 years

I give JT - 10 Mil per season for 4 years

1 give DM - 4 Mil per season for 3 years

I give JW - 6 Mil per season for 4 years

Draft:

Rd 1(3): Leonard Williams - DE - USC - play him where Bryant and Alualu plays - decide whether Bryant should be retained

Rd 2(37) Denzel Perryman - ILB - Miami - 2015 may be Poz's last season - Perryman is the Jags Bobby Wagner (Seattle)

Trade Down: Jags trade Pick 68 to Browns for Picks 77 (Rd 3) and 116 (Rd 4) - Browns want one of the remaining RBs

Rd 3(77): Daryl Williams - ORT - Oklahoma - Other than signing Bulaga from the Packers - Williams is the best option to replace Pasztor

Rd 4(99): Cody Prewitt - FS - Mississippi - Prewitt's stock is dropping and he could now be available at the top of Rd 4.

Rd 4(116): Tyler Kroft - TE - Rutgers - Regressed some from Soph year but has improved his blocking - Receiving threat to back up JT

Rd 5(133): Tony Washington - Otto LB - Oregon - depth behind Worilds - he can rush the passer with his 6 sacks this year

Rd 6(164): B.J. Finney - C - Kansas State - ZBS Center

Rd 7(195): Jordan Taylor - WR - Rice - Tall (6'5") and slim (210 Lbs) who could become a Riley Cooper type of WR for the Jags

If you don't want Thomas or Murray, you obviously don't think they are the best players available at their positions.

I don't think they are the best at their positions. Thomas doesn't want to block. He wants to catch. A true tight end blocks and catches. Murray is behind a good offensive line. He also has fumble issues.
Used to be that teams ran the ball to win football games.

Remember the Steelers of old?

Well in the NEW NFL, running the football is an afterthought and so you have players like Jimmy Graham and Julius Thomas as ALL-STARS as TEs that catch the football over the middle of the field.

These players CHANGE the GAME in favor of the OFFENSE and that is WHY teams COVET such players.

It is also WHY these players GET PAID very handsomely.

I know Julius Thomas is not the best tight end. Duh. But I also know Jimmy Graham and Rob Gronkowski are not going to be free agents next year. Name a tight end who will be a free agent and is better than Thomas if you think there is one.

DeMarcus Murray is the best running back this season. Nobody can catch up with him Sunday and he already passed Emmitt Smith's single season rushing record with a game left to play despite those fumbles.
You guys think Demarco Murray will sign a 4m/year deal?

Isn't that what Toby Gearhart got? lol

He's gonna get more.

Tight End depends on the style the team wishes to use in the future.

As for Murray, he has not broken Emmitt's record yet. Please pay attention to details before trying to pass them off as facts in the future. Also, if Murray plays, this will be the first time in his career to actually be able to play in all 16 games.

Murray is only 30 yards away and listed as probable. Don't forget how long it took Fred Taylor to play all 16 games because of injuries.

So incorrect.

I like it. I don't think demarco signs for that little. I think Thomas gets anew contract. Give me charles clay in place of jt. Remove rb altogether from FA.

Then swap McKinney for perryman and that would be a home run to me.

So you're saying that the only players that the Jaguars should sign are 'the best at their position'?

As usual, your blanket statement logic makes no sense.

This x100. Way more.
1. Buccs - Marcus Mariota QB

2. Titans - Leonard Williams DT

3. *Trade* Jets - Jameis Winston QB

4. Raiders - Amari Cooper WR

5. Redskins - Brandon Scheriff OT

6. Jaguars - Shane Ray LEO

*Jag receive 3rd and 4th Round Selection

Jaguars Draft:

Round 1: Shane Ray LEO

Round 2: Hauoli Kikaha OLB

Round 3: Jake Fisher OT

Round 3: Christian Covington DT
I think the Redskins will take Shane Ray under the above scenario.

no way you trade  from 3 to 6 to only pick up a 3rd and 4th rounder.
I still think that if the Titans do not want to draft a QB they can make a trade with the Browns for their two Rd 1 picks and maybe a 3rd or Josh Gordon or both.

Johnny Football is not going to happen in Cleveland.

I think Winston's problems are not anywhere the same as that of Johnny Football.

Winston is the best QB in this draft and can make the Browns a playoff contender.

The Titans are in total rebuild and they would jump at the chance of two Rd 1 picks and maybe a 3rd for a Franchise QB.

Winston is much more ready than Bortles was and I think Winston will succeed.

Quote:Exactly. I will never understand why some people think just because he plays with Peyton Manning, he must be overrated.

Unfortunately our chances of getting Julius Thomas are not very good if John Elway tries to keep him in Denver.
Eric Decker?
