Quote:I've been thinking that if Mariota falls to #3 (Winston, Williams go 1 and 2 respectively), the Jets are the team most likely to trade up. It wouldn't cost them too much to do so compared to a team such as the Browns or the Eagles. As for the Jags we can still get an elite player at 6.

Jets get #3 overall

Jags get #6 overall, #37 overall, and #104 overall

Winton, Williams, Mariota, Cooper/White, Beasley go 1-5.

1 (6) Dante Fowler LEO

2 (36) Dorial Green Beckam WR

2 (37) Duke Johnson RB

3 (67) Clive Walford TE

4 (103) Kurtis Drummod FS

4 (104) Taiwan Jones MLB

5 (139) Andy Gallik OC

6 (180) Robert Myers OT

7 (220) Davis Tull OTTO
This would be a beyond amazing draft.
Quote:If he lasts that long it'd be a good pickup. I suspect he will be gone long before then though.

nfldraftscout has him rated 99th. I tried not to be too unrealistic.
I'll go with the trade back scenario with the Jets.

1. Dante Fowler (still there at 6). If not, Vic Beasley.

2. Melvin Gordon and Maxx Williams (with extra 2nd at #37).

3. Derron Smith

4. Tre McBride and Hroniss Grasu (extra 4th)

5. Jarvis Harrison- more depth on offensive line.

6. Xavier Williams- add to defensive tackle rotation.

7. Kyle Emmanuel- need another linebacker. Immediate starter on special teams.

This is my ideal scenario. Jags get possibly best pass rusher( Fowler or Beasley), 2 more great weapons in Gordon and Williams (have a hunch both will drop to top of 2nd round), one of the best free safeties and solid depth on both lines.

I love the trade back to 6, because we still get Fowler, Beasley, or one of the WRs.  I wouldn't even try to screw the Jets too much.  Trade #3 for #6 and #37.  There's a lot of flexibility in holding #36 and #37.  Dave could jump back into the mid-to late 1st round (Gurley / Gordon?), but I'd rather see him stand pat with the 2 2nd round picks.  Good players always slide into the 2nd round.  Dave would have a chance to get 2 good players, maybe one he targeted and another he never expected to drop so far.

I donat think the Jets want to trade up and if they did it would probably be with the Titans
The second pick is the most interesting to me. The LEO is almost sure to go first imo, leaving the second round open for RB, 3T or 5T Dlineman, O-lineman, WR, or FS. There's sure to be a really talented player at all of these positions still left.

It's an interesting draft to be sure. In the one scenario in which we trade with the Jets and receive their #37th overall, that opens the possibility of us trading the #36 and #37 to get back into the 1st round (Gurley if he falls? Byron Jones maybe?)

Why would they trade with us?

Mariota.

If Tenn selects Williams they may fear another team (Bears, Eagles, Browns) trading up to get him. I personally wouldnt if I were them because I dont think Mariota will be a good pro but teams over value and over spend to get their QB.

I'm Dreaming and I just woke up!!

I honestly think the most likely scenario of us being able to trade back is if Mariota goes at number 2 and somebody is in love with Williams and wants to jump up and snag him. I don't see a need for a team to trade up to number 3 for Mariota unless no other teams behind us are willing to bargain.

I see a lot here calling for Jay Ajayi, but I just can't help but think the guy is going to get quickly contained in the NFL. I've keep watching more tape on him to see if I'm missing something, and I keep sensing the same thing. He doesn't at all strike me as Marshawn. If Ameer Abdullah, Duke Johnson and Jay Ajayi are all on the board, in my book you have to go with Ameer. The guy produced, is tough as nails, and virtually set all the combine records for his position this year just like Vic Beasley and Byron Jones. If he's gone I'd go the safe route with a proven thoroughbred in Duke Johnson and let someone else bust out with Jay. If Jay takes the league by storm I'll eat my words, but I firmly believe he's HIGHLY overrated on this board.

REMEMBER to politic for your favorite draft candidate because afterall what you say MATTERS.

Mother of god.... This would be amazing.

Armstead is very underrated and DGB is a freak. Stop the draft now... We win!

Hey everyone has an opinion and it is OK to express that opinion, but when it is necessary to politic for some draft candidate and absolutely downgrade another candidate, then well that just plain silly.

Suffice to say this is the SILLY SEASON!

I agree. I assume you are referring to the Beasley/Fowler debate. I'm of the school that both should be very good players, where it seems like most believe that only one or the other will be good.

Nope I am talking about the RB debate in a post above.
