Either way there will be a lot of it for the next 2 1/2 weeks and then for the first couple of days later when guys are saying the mistakes we made taking guy a over guy b.
Quote:Free Agents:
TE - Jermaine Gresham
RT - Joe Barksdale
SOLB - Akeem Ayers
FS - Devin McCourty
DE - Jason Pierre Paul
Jermaine Gresham: TE who can block and be a playmaker in the passing game. He doesn't have an injury history, but he does have some what of a fumble issue. What I have read is he fumbles when fighting for the extra yardage.
Joe Barksdale: This is up in the air for someone to target. We could very easily just try going through the draft, but we may want someone with a bit of experience.
Akeem Ayers: The reason to target him is this is a weaker draft in terms of finding a strong side outside linebacker. Ayers can fill this role pretty well.
Devin McCourty: Every team that needs a FS will be trying to target him. We will need to pay the price for him, and have Gus use some of his powers to persuade McCourty. New England probably won't want to pay for what he will end up getting, and the franchise tag will still be too much. However, Brady's new deal freed up quite a bit of cap, so they may try to keep McCourty.
Jason Pierre Paul: This would be more of a luxury option if he is allowed to test the free agency waters. The giants might try to use a transition tag here rather than franchise, so they can try to lock up one of their star players. If they don't want to match, then they have the draft which happens to be fairly loaded for DE's. However, he is young and can have Clemons rotate with him.
Draft:
Round 1 - Leonard Williams DT/DE USC
Round 2 - Eric Kendricks ILB/OLB UCLA
Round 3 - Todd Gurley RB Georgia
Round 4 - Daryl Williams OT Oklahoma
Round 5 - Josh Shaw CB/FS USC
Round 6 - Kaelin Clay PR/WR Utah
Round 7 - Michael Orakpo OLB Texas State
For those who don't know who Kaelin Clay is, the only thing you might remember was he was the player who dropped the ball against Oregon in the end zone to have it returned earlier this year. However, he is the top punt returner in college football that is eligible for the draft. He was only beat out by 1 person who was a freshman when I looked at the stats.
Eric Kendricks and Todd Gurley could have their rounds switched. Round 3 looks like they should select Best RB or OT available. If we don't get Barksdale, then perhaps Best OT in the 3rd.
If we don't get a FS via Free Agency, I would like to see Kurtis Drummond as a Jaguar. However, we could try to trade with the Browns if they wish to move up. Perhaps they would like Cooper and we could swap draft picks and possibly get Tashaun Gipson.
Quote:Yeah, I live for the draft. It is my favorite non-game sporting even of the year. I even love watching the 7th round.
Quote:Same here. I equally enjoy hopping on Twitter immediately after the draft to see the UDFA scramble, misinformation and all.
Quote:If the NFL had it's way, all of the UDRFA signings wouldn't be mentioned publicly for around 48 hours. With a special UDRFA show on NFL Network the Monday Night after the draft to announce the signings that have taken place. I believe the program would actually get good ratings compared to the ratings for most other sports programs.
Quote:That would be a good idea. I'm sure the NFL would jump all over another opportunity to milk the draft and who's remaining for another 2 days.
Quote:I still wish the NFL draft could work like it does on fanspeak. This is by far the best haul I have seen yet.

Quote:Some Chris Trapasso did a 7 round mock for CBS Sports. I don't know how good he is, but any time I see a 7 round mock, I love creating my own off of it so:Keep coming with Stefon!
Rd 1: LEO Vic Beasley - I agree with him. Von Miller similar.
Rd 2: FS Damarious Randall - He could be exactly what we need at FS.
Rd 3: RB Duke Johnson - Very solid RB. Not one of my top 4, but after a run on backs, had to get him or nobody.
Rd 4: CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu- Debated between him and Grayson as a developmental backup QB. Decided Olomu, due to his round 1 grade prior to injury.
Rd 5: C B.J. Finney - We need depth and competition for Bowanko and Finney is a very solid prospect. He can play every interior position which is an added bonus.
Rd 6: WR/KR Stefon Diggs - Would be our slot WR as well as KR guy, which we need with Todman gone.
Rd 7: QB Chris Bonner - I've seen a lot, and I mean lot, of people who are really big on this kid and he seems to be the popular pick for "guy that nobody has heard of that has pro bowl potential," by some scouts. Might be worth a 7th round pick to back up and develop with Bortles.
Quote:Randy Gregroy bashed the city of New Orleans before his visit lol this guy doesnt get it
Quote:What's not to get?How about being a professional, its a privilege to play in the NFL and with his baggage he should be happy somebody wants to draft him. He's not Eli Manning or John Elway where they were the number one pick and can dictate where they wanna play. Even then they were whinny babies.
Not the first time a player didn't like a city or didn't want to play for a team...
