The greatest deception men suffer is from their own opinions.

A picture taken with no context showing a guy not drinking. There is no behavior to excuse.
Quote:Sorry you missed it, but yes... it was out there and discussed as HS said.

People were apologizing for him, noting that you couldn't tell if he was really drinking or not.

Fair assessment, but normally sober people aren't hanging around bars until closing time.  Most sober people don't want to be around the sloppy dunks that close down bars.
When was he hanging around bars until closing time?

Quote:The picture was out there on Twitter.  Now, it was supposed to have been taken after his suspension started, but there's no way of knowing that for sure.  However, there have been reports since then of Blackmon sightings at a few local haunts out at the beach.

I do know the picture was linked here, but it didn't originate on this site.
I remember those stories. Supposedly hanging out drinking with a bunch of teammates here in town yet everyone has said he has avoided contact with the team and it's players since his suspension. I think those reports would be considered dubious at best.

High Score - Blackmon

TMD - Lewis and Shorts

I don't hate Blackmon at all.

It's a "fool me once..." sorta thing. I refuse to be fooled anymore. Meanwhile many of you appear perfectly happy living in a naive little world where Blackmon has cut off communication with his employer because he's working his butt of to become reinstated. Despite the fact that all of the evidence would indicate otherwise.

Sorry. I have too much sense to buy the desperate excuses that are being fabricated.

Enjoy that sand, buddy.

It is almost like the Jaguars won the Superbowl.
Quote:If he's reinstated by the league, the team isn't going to suspend him.  The NFLPA would have a field day if they tried.

Good point.

I keep thinking that since he missed half a season, the league would want him to serve the other half wherein my best guess is that he'll be re-instated week 9. It may take him a weeks at that point to get in-synch with the QB and ready to play, so I'm hoping to see him on the field after their week 11 bye week. He'd help them close out their final six games  (at Colts, Giants, Texans, at Ravens, Titans, at Texans) including four of their six divisional games.

lol

I don't see why my feelings of Henne are "weird." I just want to see the team I love win and have zero confidence in Chad's abilities. I just can't lie to myself about what he is. I will hope for the best and support him, albeit with great skepticism. I know BB is the future and he will take the reins whenever he is ready. I want him to be good. He just isn't.
Does anyone know if Blackmon is subject to testing or monitoring by the league while he is suspended?

I would guess not because the suspension is indefinite. He is out of the league until he asks to come back and until he asks he is basically fired.

Yes, once he was in the program, he's subjected to random testing.  The suspension doesn't stop that process from happening.

What what can the punishment be if he fails? He is already kicked out of the league.

Gosh, I don't know.  Maybe he's not reinstated?

His suspension is already indefinite, you can't get longer than indefinite, you can't increase indefinite. Other than providing evidence for if and when he does decide to apply for reinstatement it just seems pointless and if its simply a case of do x amount of tests and pass, then the NFL has a different meaning to the word indefinite than I do.

You should probably write the league and tell them that since it's pointless and all.

Would we even know if he isn't taking the tests/failing the tests?

Do you have permission to access his personal medical records?
I think they must be testing him.  After all,  if he applies for reinstatement, they have to have some basis for making a decision.

He's still considered an active player in the NFL despite the suspension.  As long as he is, he is subjected to the same rules he is if he was currently on a roster and participating fully.  Because he's a player in the program, he's required to submit samples any time it is requested.  The only thing that would end the drug testing is if he retires.  Because he's now at strike 3, he'll face random testing for the remainder of his career.
