Quote:Another thing, Blackmon didn't lead the League in Receiving Yards either.

No, but at 103.8 yards per game, he was close...

  1. Josh Gordon - 117.6

  2. Julio Jones - 116.0

  3. Calvin Johnson - 106.6

  4. Justin Blackmon - 103.8

  5. Antonio Brown - 93.7

Quote:What does Blackmon need to do to be as bad as Gordon, get arrested again? That might happen shortly.

Regards.....................the Chiefjag

Do you know something we don't know?

I highly doubt Justin is coming back anytime this year.  But I also am not going to handicap him getting arrested.  Let's hope for the best.

Edit:  I've been very critical of Justin, but just wanted to say we should all be praying/providing well wishes to his recovery/figuring out how to drink responsibly or something of that nature.

Close doesn't count for much when you play in only 4 games.

Pretty much this.

Yeah, for only 4 games he played in.
Considering practice starts in ten days, this would be a good week for him to get reinstated. ... we shall see
I got a question for the (martini) glass half-full crowd in regards to Blackmon:

Can you produce on soundbite, quote, or action that would indicate that Blackmon is even interested in getting reinstated?

One instance that you can point to and say, "See.. there. Dude wants to get back."

Because I'm not seeing it.

One action: he has played football his whole life.

He sits out for less than a year and to you that means he is done forever? Settle DOWN

So, no?

You can just say no.

It's been reported that he is in rehab.I doubt he would waste his time doing that if he weren't interested in getting reinstated.

None of us know Blackmon, so that question can't be answered. Heck, you don't even live in Jacksonville. LOL.

Blackmon can be a Top 5 receiver. He'll be given every single chance and opportunity to make it back into the league. It's up to him.

Playing football isnt an action? Ok.

Just admit you are being impatient. Let it play out. It would be nice if he would poo or get off the pot, but we really don't know what he is thinking.

However, judging by the FACT he has always played football, my guess is that he eventually comes back. Is it possible he lives the rest of his life without football? Yes. Likely? No.
Quote:One action: he has played football abused alcohol for his whole life x years.

He sits out stops drinking for less than a year ??? and to you that means he is done forever? Settle DOWN

He's in rehab. Anything else?

Also, you have no idea if he abuses alcohol.

He is rumored to be in rehab, that rumor is unconfirmed.

He blew a .24 for the police, what would you call that if not alcohol abuse?

Anything else?

Are you saying it's not normal for 20 year old kids in college to drink a lot of alcohol?

You look so stupid.

You look so stupid.
1) He was 22, no longer in school and had been drafted, when he was picked up for driving drunk.

2)  Drinking to a BAC of .24 is not normal.  I believe most experts will agree that those who find such drinking "normal", are in denial of their own drinking problems.

3)  Is a personal insult your default response when unable to defend your position?

Has he applied for reinstatement? Would we find out from PFT? How long does it normally take for the league to notify a player (and us) as to the reinstatement and/or any additional suspension?

It seems awfully quiet on the Blackmon front.

I assume application for reinstatement would be reported instantly.  How long it would take the league to decide on the matter, I don't know.

You're right, it is awfully quiet on the Blackmon front.  I take that as a very bad sign.

It might be a bad sign.....but I look at it as the opposite. Just look at Josh Gordon as the other example. No news is better than that.
