I will root for him anywhere he goes. Not only did he make these garbage years somewhat watchable, but he is helping us get our franchise QB.

Quote:You get suspended one time, I give you a chance to learn your lesson but the 2nd time, I dont trust you anymore and its in the same year.

He has to make a decision do he want to change his life, like Chris Carter did, its a shame it might be to the expensive of the Jaguars, we prob cut him and he go to another team and turn his life around a be a great player.

Sigh.....

I guess because we have the Cris Carter example, now that means that every team must cut a player before they can turn it around, huh?

How about having a feel good story with Blackmon turning it around while still on the team that drafted him??? He's not getting paid now, so its still going to have the same effect as if he was released to go to another team.
His new team after he serves the suspension it will be the same song and dance...After the 1 year suspension is up...the next one is a lifetime ban....Just get rid of the guy,  he isn't worth the trouble.

The Jags would be fools to just release him.

Doing that gives him the opportunity to be signed by an AFCS rival. No way.

I don't want him gone, but even if the Jags brass wanted him gone, they'd be better off dealing him to an NFC team at a cheap price once re-instated. You can't tell me that some NFC team wouldn't give a late round pick and gamble on that talent. Of course they would.

Our team is so void of talent I'd rather pay 2 million to keep him around and see if he can.

I didnt say we should cut him, i'm saying we will prob cut him and it will happen that way because thats what happens with the Jaguars.
Quote:Why make a stupid business/ football decision just to appease a few knee-jerk fans???

Not a knee jerk reaction.

Arrested in college for DUI, arrested weeks after the NFL draft for DUI (aggravated DUI at that), failed drug test this offseason, 2nd failed drug test during the season.

How is it knee-jerk when he can't pass drug screens when he knows he is going to get them performed weekly.

He has a problem and unlike Aldon Smith he doesn't want to admit it; watch every statement and video on it and you hear him constantly say "I don't have a problem". What total horse crap; he has a major problem and doesn't want to admit it.

He would have been fired if this was any other job, multiple DUI's and failed drug screens. Most employers would terminate upon the first failed test. Florida is a right-to-work state which means that an employer can terminate an employee without cause unless in extreme circumstances (i.e. discrimination based on religion, sexual orientation, gender, race, or ethnicity) as well as retaliation to harassment or whistle-blower claims.

Because this isn't Madden and there's more that goes into building a professional football team than whether or not a guy can physically play football. It's also far from knee-jerk, this is a chronically recurring issue that has reached a tipping point.

Still not sure what the advantage is to cutting him.

We have so much money left in cap lol.

<p style="font-size:18px;font-family:Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Palatino, serif;">It does seem like Gus Bradley was able to earn Justin Blackmon's trust. And there is the possibility that Blackmon will play for Jags again.

Still literally waiting for one good reason to actually cut him.

A) We don't need the money.

B ) He is our best player.

C) We have hardly any talent.

Doing it to "make a point" or because we are angry mad sad time frowny face whine whine, would be ridiculous.

well this sucks. anyone knows what happens if he violates it again?

Assuming the NFL resinstates him? Lifetime ban probably.

They are almost guaranteed to reinstate him though.

Pretyt much sums it up.
Cutting him makes no sense. We get nothing in return for cutting him. If he turns his life around, yippie. I just hope he stops being an idiot and gets his life together.

Justin, you couldn't pay a little extra for the untraceable Maryjane? Jeez.

there'd be zero benefit to it.- and possibility of detriment if he can freely go to another team which could be an AFC rival.

If the Jags do ANYthing - trade him to an NFC team.

(note - I want him to stay) just saying what they should do if they have any idea of parting ways.
Release him and see how many teams would be willing to sign a player barely 2 years in the NFL and facing a lifetime ban if he's reinstated.   He should be forced to pay back some of the signing bonus that he's been given.

You have to be tough...When will this guy learn?   In College,  after his first 4 game suspension...After his 1 year suspension?   I'm thinking after his lifetime ban.

He can get banned for life with another team....Sign a FA / or draft to replace him and move on.

Its very dark here in Jacksonville,I've never seen such a mess in a sports team of mine.  I mean its ugly here, i don't have words. I loved Blackmon, i always had his back, i think he's a great talent, and its all gone to waste. Nothing this team does ever works out.

Not only is the product on the field bad, but i see no signs of hope for this franchise. The only thing i can do is continue to support this team. However, i think I'm done this season. Ive seen enough. Im not quitting on my jags, but Im not in the football mood anymore. Give my tickets to charity, to people less fortunate. Ill be back next year. Its too depressing watching something i care very much about look so bad, and have every aspect of the team fall apart. I got Soccer to hold me over. Maybe an occasional college game. Ill be back next year.

Love my jags, i need a break.

Quote:welp.....another risky pick by Gene....and as of now, another failure. let's just hope for the best

A risk is a understatement. If we recall Gene didn't draft troubled/risky payers. We the fans demanded on taking a risk on B14CKMON as a talented WR. It's biting us in the butt.

NH3..
Quote:Whatever curse it is, take it away, somebody. I'm literally crying over here

Every freakin' time, it's always some sort of bad news about this team.
